Toyota suppliers or Toyota does not know how to package parts. I hit a deer back in Oct. of 2023 causing damage to the front of my 2023 tundra with less than 2,000 miles. It took until February of 2024 for the body shop to get all the parts. However, on inspection they found that the front grill that was shipped was broken, a new one was ordered, and it took ten days to arrive, and it was also broken. This is unacceptable. I think at this point Toyota, or the supplier should be paying for my rental vehicle in that my insurance company coverage is almost used up and they will not extend it anymore. And what is wrong with Toyota that they cannot have enough parts on hand to cover accidents or replacements.

I ordered a Heritage grill and when I got it the box was crunched and opened on the top. I took it out before the UPS guy could leave, thankfully it wasn't damaged. Someone just threw some bubble wrap in the box.

My son works in parts distribution for a large automotive group, and said that there was a big problem with the packaging for the Tundra window trim (I was in the process of dechrominization). Sure enough, two came damaged. The predator steps for his 4-Runner and my Tundra both arrived in damaged boxes.

I know it’s frustrating, but good luck with that. This isn’t 1990. If the box is long/narrow, or heavy, there’s going to be damage these days. It’s not just Toyota parts — it’s everything. Sign of the times.

Half of the parts in the TRD Lift Kit came in boxes labeled "Made In China". That's a lot of travel.

Photos done. Higher ups investigating. I owned a shipping and packaging company for 10 years I know how things should be packaged, this was not protected at all on the top side of the box were the grill would be seen if on the front of the vehicle. Damage to this one and the first one was the same location were no protection for the front of the grill. I inspected it at the body shop that had it and also got to talk to one of the places that ships them. I advised them of what my inspection or for that matter anyone with eyes could see the damage was coming from. They assured me the next one they ship will be packaged properly. I will see if that happens, because if the next one comes damaged and the damage is in the same location then they did not protect the front of the grill as they should have. I have been without the truck now for one month in the body shop after all parts were in because a distributor failed to properly package a front grill. The body shop said this was a four day job had the part arrived in good condition. What a waist of time and resources. Thank you for letting me vent as it has helped lower my blood pressure.

I got a left rear fender flare in a right side box. Totally wrong labeling.
