So i am looking at the GO Rhino RB20 running board for my 2021 tundra TRD sport crewmax, i will not be off-roading this truck. It’s a pavement princess. I want something that’s good for my family getting in and out,i also want protection when people open there door it hits the running board first rather then side of my truck. I believe the regular ones are 7 1/2” wide and slim ones are 5 1/2”. Just wasn’t sure if the slim ones would still stick out far enough to protect the truck or not. I also have big size 12 feet so i want a fairly good size running board. Just wondered your guys opinions on this. Thank you

I have the regular width rb20s. Id question the usefulness of a narrower version.

Also, I'm replacing them with sliders soon so if you're anywhere near Chicago and want a like new set...

Do you like the regular RB 20s? I’m in Canada unfortunately not anywhere near there

    Yeah, they've been great.

When I bought the truck it came with rb10s. The coating was peeling within a year. Because I bought it used, I didn't have a receipt to process a warranty claim.

Somebody ran into me two years ago and smashed one of the 10s so I replaced them with 20s. They've held up really really well. The wife, kids and dogs like having a step to assist them into the truck.

I went with the RB20's. Mainly as a deterrent from car doors and carts.

The regulars. I tested doors from my other cars and they would hit the RB20's before the truck door. Most shopping carts would be stopped also except for the those double decker types.

I have had mine for about 4-5 years now(maybe more) and they rusted a year later. I have tried 2 times to strip the paint and remove the rust and rust comes back on these. I bought the powdercoated version because I was reading that the rubbercoated were rusting. I live in Shitcago too and the road salt is what is killing them. I am looking for something of the same size but that wouldn't rust like this.

Yeah, I am also in the market to get new ones too. I am more inclined to get aluminum like my stock ones that are sitting in the garage right now. I am thinking of intalling them back but the only problem is that they dont protect from idiot people in parking lots.

Yes and that’s what id like a nice wide step for my family to get in and out and protection from car doors. It’s a pavement princess so I don’t need to worry about off roading or anything. Just need a good step to get in to, the TRD sports sit pretty good from factory. I am hoping it sits pretty good under rocker panel . I hate running boards that the bracket hands down about 4-5 inches. Just doesn’t look right on a truck.the go rhinos look like they tuck up against rocker fairly close anyways.

I got slim and I think they’re plenty wide. My foot size 11.
Before purchase, I saw regular RB in person and they were too wide for my taste.

Agreed with this. Put full size on my wifes 4runner. If I did it again, would definitely go with the slim version. Way too wide for whats needed.

Regular RB20. I’ve had many people mention how they feel so stable getting in and out, Really can’t go wrong either way! Go Rhino’s are an excellent choice!

Slims provide plenty of protection and are plenty wide. I think the wides are too much IMO

I have a 7 and 4 year old and with a 3-1 lift they get in and out just fine. And so far no rock chips. We drove to snow show to ski in a horrible snow storm and with snow and salt I had no chips when we got home.

My truck has about the same amount of tire poke you have. I like how the slim running boards look. I’m trying to hold off on buying a set. But, I think this week I’m gonna order a set of the slims. :spending:

Yeah now that i see the slims with offset aftermarket wheels i definately am going to go with slims keeping the stock rims on my truck I don’t want offset wheels. I think the rb20 regulars with look very goofy on factory rims/tires.

I've been contemplating the slims as my wife thinks she'd like a step. I'm torn because I like the clean look without, but if I must, it'll be the slims. How's the longevity been for you folks who have had them for several years, any rust issues?
