The environment had 0% influence on our Tesla purchase, purely a financial decision. I definitely don't want to set out and ruin the planet though.
The jury is still out on whether EV's are better for the environment, can't trust most of the data out there.

 

The Y is oddly big inside, compared to the Tundra I have more headroom and just a little less legroom. Couldn't be happier!

 

If I didn't know what lithium mines were like and I could pay cash for a PHEV RAV4 and not have my electrical bill sky rocket, I'd probably buy one.

 

Today was 3.19 but got 3.09 last fill up at Wally World.

My car gets 6 - 7L/100km highway. Guess hybrid isn't worth it.

 

We get 7-8 with ours. I thought I looked at the price of a new Corolla hybrid and the fuel economy and figured it would be about a 10 year payback vs the standard Corolla based on the way we drive. That's assuming of course that you're buying a new car ether way. I don't think it's worth it if you still own a good vehicle.

 

We might be completely done with winter here. Which means Punxsutawney Phil was actually right this time, and Gobbler's Knob weather has everything to do with Texas weather.

 

I need to get fuel in the next couple days. I'll try to remember to post it, but I only buy corn free gas, and around here that means it's 91 octane.

 

Definitely! Would suck if it wasn't intuitive and was dog shit slow.

 

Give it time. All your new californians will commify it soon enough.

 

I hate to say it but true. Most of them are going to the southern part of the state but that's where all the decisions are made...

@LarryDangerfield I ask because I work in Telecom and we interface with them on lots of stuff.

 

91 costs 25% more here than 87 but, since it wouldn't yield 25% better fuel economy, it doesn't seem worth the cost to me.

 

It's not a financial decision for me. I don't buy corn gas on principle. It's an outright scam and I despise that it was forced on us.
