Typically having poorly adjusted rear brakes is what does it after a panic stop due to some asshat who jumps in front of you and brake checks. My rear drums warp from not using the e-brake regularly and having the shoes smoke the drum when it sticks and doesn't unstick when you're driving at highway speed.

I hate drum brakes. They’d be fine if it the bell cranks wouldn’t seize. If I parked on a hill regularly that wouldn’t happen.

Gonna be looking into some of those solo fabricated spindles if you're not ready to flatten the pinch welds.-36 is like having the 1-1/4" spacer with the -6's i tried on.

my thought process is if I wanna go with 315’s the -36 will help with rub. If I go with the rocktrix they’re only -12 which would probably cap me at 285

Yeah that's weird. And @The Black Mamba shop w/Serra of Birmingham. That unaccountable asshole Eric F works at Decatur and will screw you with mistakes he made but is too much of a bitch to own up to, just like he screwed me, FGV, and at least one or two others on here. The guy is hot garbage.

Essentially this, and this is the process for almost every under-rail liner out there:

Eric is a dick, he's cost a couple of us money, and you'll hear me chime in to warn others any time I see someone trying to order Toyota parts from Serra of Decatur. It's not that he burned me "badly", but the fact he made me go back and forth with him so many f'n times on a mistake that he should've owned up to, made me wait like 2 months while he supposedly "escalated to Toyota" was absurd. He or his guys mis-bagged a part, I showed him irrefutable evidence of it, and he wouldn't own up to it. The dude is an incompetent, sneaky snake of an asshole and reflects poorly on the entire Serra family of dealerships.

Different parts manager in B-ham than Decatur, and not pulling parts from the same warehouse space.

They're supposed to review the order and confirm the parts before they hand it to the customer, but it seems like more laziness on their part. Our collision parts people double check everything from doors to small grommets/clips.

I dont remember if this conversation was public or not, but guess who found their hitch plug, and has match parts and a mortar firework?

    IMG_6355.jpg

think a 1 sec fuse is enough or should i aim more immediate?

cast the plug out of tannerite & paint it black?

Yeah. Didn't happen here. Basically I ordered four splash aprons - the splash guards that have an L, LL, R, RR stamped out of them, they snap-in just before and after the strut tower to prevent mud/water splashing on the side of the engine.

I got four bagged parts, all with the correct part numbers. But inside those bags were R, L, RR and another RR, but no LL. I emailed the dude very clear pictures of the bags, clearly sealed with the part number visible, and on a light background so you could clearly see (A) the "L" and "R" designations, and (B) the shapes of each part, since each of those parts is supposed to be a different shape.

Dude blamed Toyota for the problem. Tried to tell me he ordered two more and got the same, so he "had to request a stock inspection. Waiting on Toyota they obviously have a bunch mis labeled".

When I asked the parts managers at two of my "regular" dealerships if this was legit, both of them said, "Nope. This dude is playing you. That's not how it works. It'll either be him bagging it or the local warehouse that services other dealerships nearby." (or similar)

I notified the dude on Feb 26th of the mistake, with pics. I emailed him every 7-10 business days to check up, since he wasn't messaging back. My last email reminder to the guy was June 28th, and he finally offered to accept the part on return on July 7th, almost 6 months later. Absolutely 100% bullshit. I'll never shop Serra Toyota of Decatur parts again, unless I know Eric Francis has been let go and no longer working for their parts department. This level of incompetence and shady behavior is uncceptable.

That resolution should absolutely not have taken 6 months. The Toyota parts return is great.

I hope he didn't charge you a restocking fee and Toyota isn't supposed to charge that until after 6 months.

I rub when I wheel it. Not so much on the street, but I'm CRANKED in the front and had to cut a shit ton out. The tires literally rub all 4 corners under compression. that's 17x9 -38 and 17x9.5 -32 both on the same set of Toyo 305/70's. 315's there's no way in hell you'd clear without hacking up the truck. If you have fender flares this makes it 10x harder and way more cutting.
