The Aquamist kit would be perfect for multiple nozzles at the heads intake. Once AES get the intake runner out it will be pure powa.

 

Has anyone stripped out the boost reference port plug?
If so how did you go about getting it out without removing the blower?

 

on the 2650? several of us... Mine wasn't installed yet when I did it, but I had to hammer a bigger hex in there and then heat the surrounding area (carefully) with a torch to get it out.

 

@NatesNighrmare try heating like helidave stated. Don't try to drill it out with it installed. A small shaving can do some damage to your valves or cylinder. Good luck!

 

I would but the fuel line is literally right there.

 

Also im trying to do this with the blower installed so hammering prob wont work, no space. Im def not taking this thing apart. If I cant get it out then no guage I guess. Quite pissed about it though

 

In the same boat, my current plan is to lay down some heat wrap for wire over the top of the damn fuel crossover plastic connector and use a small flexable butane torch to heat up the plug before i try to loosen, I knew i should have attacked it before I bolted the damn thing down.

 

Not in the most accessible spot, true. If you move the coolant tank out of the way you'll have more room to work.

 

Problem is mine is stripped out because it is so tight

 

Not sure if I can move it out of the way enough with it filled and connected

 

Worth a shot. It's only 2 bolts.

 

Is it a brass or steel plug? Know anyone with a mini-ductor induction heat gun? (if steel)

It's brass. I dealt with mine preinstall, but ya, it stripped out. I used an ez-out. There might be enough room for that while it's in the vehicle.

 

I have backouts but it wont grab

 

I would think you could unbolt the top cover of the blower to have access to the inside, then IF you want to drill it out you could at least rig a setup to catch the chips and vacuum it out.

 

And there probably isn't enough room to tap it in huh?

Was thinking maybe JB weld an allen or tourqes socket in… ‍♂️

 

Of the two sides, the fuel line/injectors are easier to remove on that side of the engine, would that give you some more room? The intercooler tank would need to be moved for that, but you wouldn't have to disconnect any of the hoses.

 

Tap a slightly oversized hex bit (or a torx, whatever) into the stripped out hole in the plug then heat the surrounding area slightly with a torch. It'll come right out. You don't need a lot of heat. Cover the fuel line with something to protect it if you need to. Or try it without heating it first; maybe you'll luck out and it'll break loose. There's enough room, especially if you unbolt the coolant reservoir and move it out of the way.

 

I dont think I can pull that rail out with the space.
Not sure if you know the new 2650 setup or not

 

I have one installed as well, but I haven't looked at it in a while to accurately visualize the space.

 

Problem is the space to use sometbung to tap it in

Magnuson needs to know about their crappy setup! Like @snivilous stated, is there access to the plug with the Intercooler bricks removed? If so you can use a vacuum or rags with lots of sticky grease to catch the brass if you need to drill and ez-out it. What a nightmare Nate!

 

Apprently they know, they wrote me back and said they started fiximg the issue late last year and my unit was built mid year before the fix.
Im not going to pull this unit apart for a damn gauge. Its a pain in the ass! Thats why I was asking otherwise and by the way its going ill be sending my gauge back and leavung the plug stripped to all hell

 

Fixed! Was able to drill it some and get an extractor in enough to grab

 

Does that mean you're keeping the gauge?
