    is the transmission the same in the 4.6 as it is in the 5.7?

    No, the smaller 4.6 V8 uses the A760F.

    2015 red Tundra double cab 4.6 L 4x2
    running boards , TRD sway bar and tundra 08 SR5 wheels. FRACmod, pop&lock and backup sensors installed .
    different rear diff as well , I have enjoyed my 4.6L for my needs its been great.
    16 MPG city 18 MPG highway

    You can find out which transmission is in your truck by looking at the sticker on the inside of the driver's door. Transmission info is in the lower corner, left corner I think.
