    Bilstein 5100's with 2883's - close to 2" Replacing the 2883's and going back to the bottom perch ASAP -mobile/apple play stereo with sub and backup cam -Power stop HD front calipers and rotors for towing -20" wheels with 32" tires (305/50's) Toyo AT 3's with no rubbing -Westin nerf bars -Detroit axle new (not rebuilt) steering rack with poly bushings, inner and outer TRE's -Suspension Maxx extended front sway bar links -Overland tuning - medium level -Power front leather seats and steering wheel from 06 Sequoia -fully de-chromed/blacked out trim -all light housings incl 3rd brake light and tag lights replaced with smoked lenses, LED where appropriate -mini projector headlights -fully rebuilt trans and new torque converter -new complete drive shaft with spicer u-joints and carrier bearing -all LED interior lights including backlighting -new lower window seals for all 4 doors -all new hardware and clips for tailgate Next: Dirty Deeds racing exhaust with LT headers, yellow box, 12 hole DD fuel injectors, redo or replace door panels
    Yeah I tried one of those dongles. it would work three out of four times then the fourth time you would have to unplug it and plug it back in And that was one of the better reviewed ones. I'm sure in time there will be improvements And there were also some other occasionally inconsistent behaviors with it. In the end it just wasn't worth it in my case.

    Crutchfield told me the larger screen would work. It does slightly overlap the edge of the air vents with the 10" or larger, but would not interfere with adjusting the vent

    @KNABORES is spot on. Nobody I’ve seen on here w/1GT has been gushingly happy with the floating screen units due to obstruction/blockage. Now I say that, someone will come out of the woodwork and claim to love it, but the general sentiment is it’s too bulky, sticks out too much, blocks vents.

    I suspect I will be "that guy" to you that goes against the grain a little bit .

    But that's what I love about the forum - reading the differing opinions so I can make an informed decision for my needs and preferences

    In this case, I'm still evaluating with help from Crutchfield

    I think a floating 9" would cover the opening nicely and not block the vents, but the brackets will have to be modified.

    That's exactly where I was leaning. I'm kind of doing a mock up now to experiment in my truck based on the dimensions Crutchfield gave me

    Wonder if the screen washout issues are due to the resistive screens? These newer units have capacitive screens in them. My brothers Alpine 650 has capacitive screen with glass I think and it so much nicer thatn the crappy resistive screens on my Kenwood's. My next Kenwood unit will be capacitive for sure. Thinking 958XR unless they release new units in a year or so.

    it probably is. I know the clarity on the newer screens is genuinely unbelievably better. Mine may have faded a little bit, but still, it was never like these new ones

    the blacks/dark are so much better. Just night and day difference, which makes the white and lighter colors really stand out
