‘23 Tundra to ‘23 Sequoia parts swap

Curious if the tundra parts are compatible with the new Sequoia. Our Lunar Rock Sequoia is a limited trim and came with chrome door handles that I’d like to swap to color matched or even black. I can only find handles for the Tundra currently.

I went ahead and ordered these, will see if they fit. Are these supposed to be an overlay cover, or is the chrome insert removable?

 

They are an overlay that only covers the chrome.

 

Would be awesome if they made them in Lunar Rock

Well, you could paint them or wrap them. I ordered another set and will wrap mine in lunar rock and replace the black one I have on them now.

 

Can the chrome side window moldings be painted black? Has anyone tried that on Tundra or Sequoia?

 

I was recommended by a friend to try a car wrap installer. Google chrome delete and it has a few YouTube videos of cars getting the wrap done on chrome parts.

 

Thanks... though I've read about the 'temporary' nature of such vinyl wrap which lasts about 5 - 7 years, so it may not be a permanent modification.

Painted the side window moldings glossy black on 2023 Sequoia that came with chrome factory moldings. Better finish and looks than wrapping vinyl. Am 'hoping' the same for durability too!

 

Did you paint it yourself? It looks great.

 

No, got it painted at a body shop for $200. They mechanically scrubbed off the chrome, applied primer then a couple of layers of paint, and then polished it.

 

Hey- I just bought that identical Lunar rock Sequioa and have all of the same questions. I don’t get why they have black, dark metallic gray and chrome trim all over.

any feedback on the handle Covers?
I also want to have the window trim as well as the front and rear lower grill/vallance painted black to flow.

any help is appreciated!

 

How did those handle overlays work out for you? Do they look and fit pretty good?

My fear is that they will be a noticeable overlap like the old pep boy special accessories …. Cheap
