Yep, NUDRAT is right, gotta watch out for DC Area/VA. Still get enough snow and salt the roads, especially in my area. Also would watch out for Norfolk region, salt air would be my concern. Mine was really good (from Northern VA) other than the frame stiffener area I missed on my inspection, which I'm watching like a hawk and waxing the whole frame yearly.

Speaking of rust, when I was under the truck yesterday this part was half rusted off, so I took it the rest of the way. 17518-0F010 - Toyota Parts Deal
Anyone know how critical it is? Is it for harmonics on the exhaust, or heat shield? Contemplating replacing or not.

Those heat shields are useless unless you’re accident prone and like to work under the truck after it’s been running. I tore off what didn’t fall off on the highway and tossed it.

In an effort to bring this discussion away from the intricacies of explosive poo, I replaced the coils in my truck:
    PXL_20240210_190115513.jpg PXL_20240210_190123329.jpg

Then I treated the interior with ozone after thoroughly scrubbing every panel:
    PXL_20240211_010356871.jpg

I grabbed a tonneau cover. This was my quick purchase installation. I need to readjust it forward. It's a Solid Fold 2.0 and installed in 3 minutes!

I also replaced the carrier bearing and lubed the shaft. Lots of nasty grease was purged from the ujoints

Changed oil on all three vehicles today and damnit I have oil leaks on two of em. The wife’s Suburban appears to be valve cover leak so I ordered new on Rock Auto. 2000 AC had may 2-3 teaspoons worth of oil on the skid plate driver side by the rear bolt which was also soaked in oil. I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Valve covers look dry. Figure 8 gasket area doesn’t seem to be dripping. Frame crossmember is wet with oil and front of engine is wet below crankshaft along pan gasket. No drips noticeable. TB was changed 25k ago and I didn’t do cam seals. Ideas or thoughts?

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Evidence suggests they left the the area... with no pants/underwear/or socks.
Impressive noting they were able to wiggle out of all the above soiled items, and return their shoes to their feet before the hasty exit.
    Fuckin animals I tell ya.

Socks: negative. They were left at the scene, clogging the toilet, along with undies.
And now you know...... The rest of the story. RIP Paul H.
