Didn't think the a/c compressor clutch could hold so much belt. Thought I might have to pull it out but got the belt pieces out. What a rats nest.

By the Grace of God things are starting to come together. Took a while getting some custom parts in for things that are being done simultaneously

Whatever this forum told me to do
    S/C related oil crap.

the oil on the right is 0w-20 - this is back when I had the S/C installed (how time flies!). dyno pulls, etc.
the one on the left is 5w-30. it has 5k miles of the 77.5mm pulley.
The ole girl still burns ZERO oil.

    read 'em and weep boys.

5w-30 has LESS wear!? (clutching my pearls)

    Costco oil is GTG.
I searched for similar Amsoil reports & found a couple...decided not to post them here as the comparison is profound.
And you never want to lather up the Amsoil boys.

Well I was finally able to get my damn Ethanol down from 29%/39% to 0% density via Techstream. It was making tuning a real pita:facepalm:I would high suggest any of you running a FFV tune to reset density, it will eventually creep up.....

Hmmmmm, I resemble that remark. Might need to get my tuner to check it out. Is there not a way to make it stay at 0?

S/C install and I have a lot of lessons learned for my generation 2019 trd pro

my issue was the I dash gauges which could not be installed on my driver’s side A pillar so I was betwixt and between ventilation gauges or mounted. I went for mounts but will go to the vents soon as the Amazon packages come in.

performance wise it’s what the truck should have been like from the factory. Driving across four states via I-10 and gas mileage for me is exceptional.
I have a banks pedal monster now and banks I-mouse with two banks I-dash gauges
I have not worked out the kinks

but 470hp at the wheels according to the data from the dyno. The faint whine really gets noticeable when you get on it. But just driving the truck feels NIMBLE

I could be wrong, but I thought if you set the flex fuel tables to match the regular tables it made the ethanol content irrelevant. @snivilous

I've heard it'll just creep up even with the battery disconnect and fill method. From my gathering bypassing the flex fuel fuse and bypassing for 60 psi mod works the best, no more learn up. For me just resetting density via tech stream works fine. Have the laptop with me constantly so it's easy enough.

I was was showing no less then 29% eth no matter what. Adjusting the maf table negative helps slow the learn up but I never got below said 29%. Now that it is reset to 0, my trims are mad positive +26 taper +17 or so..... Now back to adjusting the MAF table negative for me.

    One thing to mention

I added wifi hotspot to the truck but the WiFi hotspot and my alpine halo and I dashed all can’t use the same obd2 port
I had a obd2 slpitter but will see if I can get a threesome going real soon and give you my impressions. I’m all about performance personally

Someone on here suggested sticking to stock brakes and I did price an upgrade set at more than two grand but I feel like these brakes are more than adequate.

If you add a supercharger the radiator shrouds or deflectors ( whichever you prefer to call them
) will work fine but the driver’s side will have to be modified to fit around the new connections to the heat exchanger and pump

I'm not sure if HPT has access to all the ethanol affected tables, with that said I change everything I can to eliminate the ethanol side effects as much as HPT allows. I haven't tuned many FFV trucks and probably just gotten lucky that no one has had to reset...

Pretty sure the alcohol % problem is inevitable with the FFV tundras, and unfortunately is exacerbated by supercharging them. I think you would have to totally remove all FFV related equipment on the fuel system and who knows what else. I think 4Firemandan may have done this? When shopping for my current truck I knew I would be supercharging, non FFV was a top priority for me. Kudos to those of you fighting the boosted FFV battle despite the potential issues!

4Firemandan FFV threads here and on the HP repository is exactly where I found the information on eth content. From deletion/ decommissioning of the FFV fuel system and upgrade, battery reset and tech stream reset. His fuel system upgrade is the best method it seems. Any other way from what I've read is resetting, it'll creep up eventually unless you keep up on it

Mines a 17 and I've never used ethanol. But logging I see it creep up, even if I adjust the MAF table. Give her more fuel and bam eventually positive trims again. Idk but It may be because mine is just a pain in the ass lol

Sorry for the noob question, but I figured the experts would know. As I understand it, the HP tuner that comes with the SC is a “read only” unit that contains the tune for the tundra.

what route do you all suggest/use for all of the tweaking? I’m mostly interested in trying to correct the speedometer as it is off by 6 mph at 80 (shows 74) due to the 35’s

SC is scheduled for install on the 26th

    any info is greatly appreciated!

You’ll want a custom tune. There’s certain things more than Speedo etc that should be adjusted. The tune also doesn’t change the Speedo that’s different device that’s needed unfortunately.

You’re correct in that your Kit will come with an HPTuners RTD which is a read/write/log only device. Not just anyone is able to write files for the RTD devices. HPTuners reserves the ability to write custom tunes for RTD users to their authorized retailers.

Unfortunately for you however, even a custom tune won’t correct your speedometer. The cluster gets that signal direct from the ABS ECU, not the main “engine” ECU.

    Congrats on your S/C!

If you ever need/want a custom calibration for your RTD without having to spend a bunch of money to replace it shoot an email to info@overlandtailor.com and we’ll get you taken care of.

Thank you for the info. Is the HP tuners MPVI3 the tool I need to write to the ecu? I see it has a speedometer correction feature

again sorry for the noob questions! Super excited to finally join the SC club!

The MPVI3 will allow you to write your own tune or load tunes that other people make for you. No aftermarket tune, MPVI3 or otherwise, will correct the speedometer error on the Tundra.

It's very confusing how HPT has it listed. Their gear/tire function does help with the shift tables and larger tires, or at it did for me. But speedo is external as others have said.
