I mentioned here a few times that my last set of Bosch wiper blades lasted over 6 years. They were on the truck when I bought it in 2016 and I replaced them January 2022. So I actually don't know how much older they are. They are expensive but well worth it. My current set is now is 2 years old and working fine.

 

$60 for blades that go 6 years. You can’t buy any pair for $10 a year. Essentially, BOSCH is cheaper

 

Bosh Icons came or come standsrd on VWs. Them RainX wipers ised to be really good now theyre trash. Last 3 sets I had wore out inside a year. Went back to Bosh for all my cars.

 

Alright guys looking at these wheels. A few issues I have is they are 16x7 and a bit expensive. Hoping to talk him down a bit. Going on a 2006 dc 2wd but worried that they have too much off set and don’t really want spacers. What do you think?

 

Did your DC come with the 16s or the 17s? What’s the offset of the taco wheel? This info will help you decide if you need spacers or not.

 

Another Bosch user here. All of their “beam” style blades are great. I have Icons, I believe, on the truck and Highlander. They do last for damn ever.

I redo’s them to PHM back in the day. I don’t think he was impressed but maybe I misunderstood. I think they’re the best wiper blade I’ve ever used.

Ordered some parts.

New clear headlights
New foglights
Rear window pins(again)
A rear breather to finish the mod
More HVAC knobs as fine keep falling off the fan speed one
A tire deflator kit
A new 3k watt sub amp
@daveeasa is gonna sell me a new mids/highs amp

 

On those HVAC knobs, the small metal U clip inside is what keeps them on nice and tight. Make sure you haven't lost those little buggers.

 

The plastic splits on mine and then the tab can’t hold pressure any longer. I’ve replaced 2 of them already

 

I bought several a few years back and keep them in the glove box as spares.

 

Went ahead and put in the order to get my belt squeak TSB taken care of. Parts should be in tomorrow. I'm replacing the belt as well, better safe than sorry. I attached a PDF of the actual TSB if anyone needs it.

I've had great luck with Napa beams, but I treat them with aerospace 303 a couple times a year. Well, and the fact that I can get them for around $9 apiece helps.

 

I just go with OEM Toyota wipers. I use the Rain-X washer fluid and it makes it to where I barely need to use my wipers anyway. I highly suggest using the Rain-X washer fluid.

 

They didn't tase me today either. Maybe tomorrow...

 

Interesting. I didn't know those models had a ribbed pully.

Is the removal process similar to the earlier V8? As in, a rite of passage that all shade tree mechanics must take on their way to enlightenment? Come back with your shield, or on it.

 

The TSB says that this process is similar for all models 00-06. It also says that it's "An improved accessory drive belt tensioner". It's probably a newer design. I will try to remember to get pics of the two parts for comparison.

 

The part Toyota sold me Feb 2022 was

16620-0W101. The tension on the old one was awful, fixed my issue of cold start squeaking

Never mind, it's just part of the description. The pulley itself is unchanged. My bad.

I bought a gates or ac Delco when I replaced my assembly. Though, my reason for replacing was not because of any squealing. Maybe the enhanced design actually lets you get a belt on that fucker without the use of a flathead screwdriver and 1000 hail Mary's!

 

Drove it as far as the optician today (20 miles out) and thought I saw gas dropping from the gas tank.

Cancelled my plans to take the folks out to Johnny Macaroni’s as I don’t want to endanger them. When I got home, I couldn’t find any leaks so it was probably water dripping through the bed holes combined with the smell of gas whenever I fill up. Will keep my eyes peeled to see if it leaks again.

Just some bad mojo today.
