    I think I've tried many of the options:
    On a bed rack (made the rack squeak and drove me nuts)
    Flat on the bed (hogged up all of the space)
    Upright on the bed using a tire mount (can't use a tonneau cover or a bed rack)
    Inside the cab (crewmax without back seats, took up the same amount of space the back seats did when folded up)
    Next iteration will be 2x40" spares in the bed upright - only way to go. Gotta learn to just carry less junk :rofl:

    I have a 5 and 8 year old plus a dog. Carrying less junk is not an option yet. I even considered getting a Tacoma so my wife can drive that with all the extra stuff.

    Or an offroad trailer. Keep the spare in the bed and offload the non-daily driver essentials to the trailer.
