The scuttle around the water cooler; it sounds like @des2mtn and maybe two of the texas trucks are possibly coming. I don’t think @FirstGenVol is making the trek again

I’ve been trying to go to this event for years. When I get the LT on the front I’ll come out. I love Sedona.

Did you get a new job?

I forgot to mention we're going to the Ozarks for the Eclipse April 8th. Should be awesome. If anyone wants to join they are welcome. @KNABORES is already busy but if anyone else sees this and is interested, let me know.

The plan is to continue on another 19 hours to Moab after that.

For sure. I was ready today. Funny you should use the Metallica album title, as that was what I was going to say before the did it.
They showed me a few videos and not only did I give signed consent to be tased, in the videos they also asked it the guys were ready and consent. When they ask, I'm going to say "lets ride the lightning, baby!"

:( I spent this years roadtrip money on truck parts. I've had to camp in my yard, might have to switch to keystones if i wanna buy sliders.

Looks like they banned me from posting here at work. Got a pop up message twice today that the web administrator will be notified. Once to post a brief reply, the other to give a “like” (really?).

Bummer. May have to up my phone plan to unlimited for an extra $15/month. :(

Still glad I don’t work in a closed area without my phone.

Quick question for anybody who fabs shit.

whilst building thy pre-runner bumper shall I useth grade 8 bolts? Or whilst grade 5 or whatever the fuck be good enough?

also does zinc coating need to be sanded away for strong welds? Again strong, not pretty.

For reference I’ll be chopping the original support off and welding in plates with nuts on the back. And I’ll weld up some plates to the bumper to bolt onto the frame. Just looking for structural integrity advice.

This is from……… addicted fab? Cut out the flimsy cross member and mounting points, cap/box in the frame rails whilst welding in a new cross member with welded nuts on the inside I think and tabs with welded nuts on them. I know this is different from the plate you plan on modifangling…… but might give you some ideas

That’s some skill right there @FrenchToasty. I’m surprised @Mr.bee isn't contracting your services for a replacement bumper.
