Morons. This is why I think Tesla should make slower, but longer range versions. There's way too much stupid out there, and having the slower option would at least give a chance at preventing some of this kind of idiocy.

The “slow” Teslas are still very very quick compared to your standard ICE cars

 

I would imagine the Plaid has a valet mode. Pretty dumb of the dealer to not use it!

Yeah, but you know what I mean too. Not sure that decreasing the acceleration would actually net more range though. IDK enough about how they work, but if it were possible I'd take a 5.5 second 0-60 if it gave me another 50-100 miles of range.

The LR Y gets 25 more miles of range than the Performance.

I would also take a slightly slower Tesla for 50 more miles of range

 

Range is the biggest factor to me with them. The Model 3 LR is the one with the most appeal in that category (barring S and X because of absurd prices) but I like the room of the Y more. If the new Y isn't a huge hike in price and gets some more miles, I might retire with one.... and live in it down by the river.

 

why? the Plaid is built to be fast.

Because...EV's, generally speaking, suck.

Tesla is different. They suck wayyyyy less.

EVERY other EV is a gigantic PITA.

I sat in a M3 at the Chicago Auto Show last night. That was my first experience with one aside from seeing them on the road. The I was shocked at how sparse the interior was, but that is by design. Does it feel like a $30k+ car, no, but I also understand what you're getting. Me being 6'5" and an unhealthy 260lbs, fit, but it would only really work as a commuter for us. Maybe a family car in a pinch, but I've notice a lot of sedans do not accommodate rear passengers for a seat being all the way back. The Golf GTI was pointless for rear leg room.

 

I love the minimalist interior, but it is very different than anything else.
Try out the Model Y if you get a chance, better in every way for tall guys like us. I'm 6'7" and 215lbs

 

215 would be a dream. What's the secret? Exercise, eating well, alcohol, stress? Combination of all 4?
