I'm the last guy to say no as I spent $5k on suspension all in one whack then another $2500 on coilovers.

I’m right there with ya… I thought the same thing about Alcons when I first looked at them: ‘are you :censored: kidding me?!? For brakes?!?’ But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Then I got a Whipple and it’s almost a no-brained to upgrade brakes now. I blame @reywcms…

Luckily for me, it’s only a 30 cents premium for me. And I already run midgrade, so it was a 10-20 cents per gallon premium. I can stomach that. Towing, this thing is unreal with the SC. Should have done it a long time ago.

Now, back to our regularly schedule programming…

ALCON BRAKE GROUP BUY!! Sounds like @texasrho83 wants in on the action!

My deer strike that happened on the way to get the Supercharger install was 3682.00 and 2 weeks at the shop. Granted insurance covered all but the deductible but that would get you a front set of Alcons.

Haven't had much intrest in this group buy, I have 3 people that have committed to purchase but not enough for the 15% discount. Chris and I have been discussing the possibility of extending this but his concern is availability of the product. He has 22+ and 14 to 21 sets but limited on the 7 to 13 and shipping of orders is sometimes 6 weeks.
I would like to know who would be interested if he does extend this to give him an idea of what is needed to fulfill our order and a time frame of when it should end.

We have also discussed the possibility of a non refundable deposit so you might be able to pay in full after TAX time, let me know what everyone thinks

Anyone else besides Rey have any experience with the service life of this kit? I see the rotors, when they need to be replaced, are $1470.

Yeah, only about 25K miles on mine so far, and nothing to report. Just towed my TT to Pacific City for steelhead fishing tomorrow. They still make truck stop with a smile…

Chad you ever get rear wheel hop on hard breaking ,talking with Chris about a full kit vs a front only kit his comments were lighter vehicles MAY experience rear wheel hop because of how great they stop.
Also how is the day to day non towing with them

I’m not experienced any wheel hop whatsoever. Chris did not mention that when we talked about my order, but did say that just the fronts would be adequate for the typical user. He agreed that both ends would be extra nice for towing. He was right…

Braking when empty is unreal. With the braided lines replacing the rubbers, you have a firmer pedal, and you just don’t push very hard to make them work. You just have so much in reserve when needed, and I don’t know if you can make these things fade due to heat if you were paid to.

They’re a big ticket item to buy, but they’re really nice.

I'm curious about this too. Kinda of thinking the antilock system might get a little stressed out, no? I've read other anecdotal posts about issues with their OEM brakes locking unexpectedly but I don't remember all the details. Good and bad with everything, and I think there's much more good with this kit and it is likely okay once the driver gets acclimated to the new response, but again that might only work if the abs doesn't get overwhelmed.

I’ve not experienced any of these symptoms. My ABS seems to operate the same as stock. Only when the tires lose traction, like on icy roads. They work just like regular brakes, but better…

Alright guys and gals we have reached out threshold for 15% off the kit,I will be in contact with everyone shortly.
Thank everyone for responding and considering this upgrade,
as far as extending it now no one has expressed interest even with the possibility of a layaway plan so I will end this Group Buy on Monday 2-26-2024 at 6pm eastern time..........Dave

Just to give everyone a cost breakdown full sets save 907.35
    Front only save 577.50
    Rears only save 401.25
This is for 16 to 21 model years........Powder Coating is additional cost but is a 25% discount from 750.00 so an additional 225 savings on a full kit.
