So... here's the odd ball question asker again.

As Long as I've owned my truck, I have never known what they call the cab. Never really needed to know. Now that I need to, what the heck is it?

Is it a crew cab, a full cab, a half cab, a taxi cab, a party cab.... what!?!? Nothing seems to tell me.:monocle:

A picture of your truck would help. For 2012, you had regular cabs with 2 doors. You had “double cabs” with 2 full doors and 2 smaller rear doors with the door handle up high on the side of the door. You also had “Crew Max cabs” with 2 full front doors and 2 ginormous rear doors with matching door handles. Double cabs got 6.5’ and 8’ bed options and the Crew Max was only available with a 5.5’ bed.

Thank you sir. Greatly appreciated. I need those black strips along the roof top and needed that info to buy them. One of the darn things flew off at some point I guess.

Might as well get the set so they match.

Yup, 3. Yours is the double cab. About 10,000 references on this site that point to which cab is which between posts and profiles. Glad that mystery is sorted.

Apologies for asking. Didn't think there'd be a lot of discussion on cab types since most people seem to know theirs and I couldn't find the info.

Didn't think to search the forum.

Just a heads up. Most of the Toyota parts sites I’ve seen use the terminology “crew cab” for the double cab (like yours) and “entended crew cab” for the longer Crewmax.

Goes along with the industry standard of Sales, Parts, and Service departments all getting / using different terms for the same darn thing. It prevents confusion, right?!?!

Haha! I was referring to my daughter’s double cab as an extended cab.

But why not? The prices are higher (after exchange rates) and shipping is never free here.

Which one of these would equate to a double cab?
