Damn, I think I need this in my life. But I've been thoroughly enjoying only having one money pit to dump cash into.

Perfect vehicle and it’ll be ready when your kids are ready to move out at the age of 18 (or is it 30 today?) and you and the wife want to travel around the country.

Damn. POR-15 is $67+ for a quart! I remember when I first bought it in 2011 and it was around $45-50/quart.

That's where you moved them to?
So are they real close to their respective units, as the rear diff breather is in OEM form? I extended my rear diff breather years ago. But no one ever mentions extending any other breathers. I always assumed they must've been more adequate and unnecessary to extend.

No that's original location. Mod is to move them higher like up to firewall. Have to search when have more time for "how-to" writeup.

I went to NYC back in 2019 and it wasn't all that bad from what I saw. I don't have any experience there post-covid so it could be different now but the dirtiest place that I have been to is New Orleans and it's worse than NYC to me. I've been twice now and it's always the same. I never had the pleasure of experiencing pre-Katrina but it definitely did not recover well over the years.

I'm in New Orleans in October and NYC at Thanksgiving. I'll do a comparison and report my findings for 2024.

I just came from New Orleans a week ago for Mardi Gras and it's still the same, hah. Be sure to check out the restaurant Katie's. It's off the beaten path but pretty delicious.

I went to New Orleans in 2020 and then NYC in 2021. I'm honestly not sure which was dirtier but I expected New Orleans to be bad. I didn't expect NYC to be such a shit hole. Trash piles on the sidewalks and then loose trash everywhere. It would blow under your feet as you walked and you would have to dodge the piles as you went down the sidewalk. The price of everything was outrageous. Every cocktail was $17-22. One place we went to we got one drink each and a bowl of fries. $50. I would go back to New Orleans. Not NYC. I'm guessing it was better before COVID.

I think NYC was better pre-covid from your description of it. It wasn't that bad or as expensive as your trip was.

The only reason that I went back to New Orleans a second time was because a friend wanted to go during Mardi Gras and that damned World War 2 museum is seriously amazing. It is the best World War 2 museum that I have ever been to and on the same level as the Smithsonian's in my eyes. I probably wouldn't have agreed to go back to New Orleans if it didn't exist.

I was in NYC in December and NO in January. Both in relatively good shape compared to history. Of course we were in SOHO and Greenwich village in NY. Not near as much scaffolding and trash as I usually see. It’s always trash day in NYC it seems. NO was decent off Bourbon street and the usually gross condition on it. But overall both weren’t too bad. I’ve been to both many times through the years for both work and personal and am not a fan of NYC ever. NO gets a pass as a native Louisianian and because of food.

The food is really great. I first had Red beans and rice with andouille sausage there and it has been one of my favorite foods now.

I don't really know why it's hosted there. But I did a quick google search and it looks like the Higgins boat was created there.

"Why is the Museum located in New Orleans? New Orleans is home to the LCVP, or Higgins boat, the landing craft that brought US soldiers to shore in every major amphibious assault of World War II"
"As the Higgins boats, vital to amphibious operations, were designed, built, and tested in New Orleans by Higgins Industries, the city was the natural home for such a project. Furthermore, New Orleans was the home of historian and author Stephen Ambrose, who spearheaded the effort to build the museum"

    Cool
If you ever make it out west, I think we have one of the best air and space museums, it blew the one in San Diego out of the water. And we have the boneyard here as well which is cool to see
