Alright guys I'm trying to get some discounts on the powder coating so that is still in discussion ,as or right now it is 750 per pair to powder coat. I am told he takes the caliper apart before coating to assure he does not damage the seals. He uses Prismatic Powders and can do metallics but suggested solid colors to reduce costs.

Alcon brakes.....15% off for 10 sets..... Front & Rear will count as 2 sets so 5 people ordering complete f&r will get us 15% off. Added bonus waving CC fees and free shipping

So I need everyone that is Buying contact me with your name, number, truck year........when we get 10 we will notify you by your dm through this forum. Thanks guys let's get it done......Dave

Maybe a lazy post on my part, but where does one go to find the specs regarding increased stopping power or brake fading vs. stock?

Sitting on the shelf lol but always better to do the complete setup. Throwing them on here soon. I wanted to test the fronts alone then do the rears.

Aw. Was curious to see anecdotal evidence of front-only performance as I've always been under the presumption that doing caliper replacements in all 4 corners was mandatory.

All these other kits out there only sell fronts. Does it work? Sure, is it the best optimal way no.

I find it interesting the website says vehicles under 9900lbs should use the front kit only, and that statement is underlined like it is important. That’s about 2700lbs over the tundra GVWR, so i guess the front/rear combo is extreme overkill for most of us? I’d love to have even just the fronts, but can’t commit to that cabbage for brakes at the moment unfortunately.

I wondered the same thing. But to me, it seems like it would feel unbalanced to have massive 6 piston fronts and stock single piston rears. I've was looking for upgraded rears calipers for a while, reasoning that while towing it would give me better braking since the trailer puts more dynamic weight on the rear in a stop as weight transfers forward from the trailer to the tongue and on to the rear axle. I've seen guys trying to stop trailers quick where the front brakes lock up on the truck and you start snow plowing without any steering control.

Anyways, I wondered the same thing. Guess I'll have to add some more weight to the truck and get closer to that 9900 lbs..

I’d be curious to see how just changing out the rears to these would feel and if it is advised to do so. The fronts do about 75% of the braking force normally is what I’ve read.

Got a response about powder coating and he will give us 25% off the 750.00 price per pair. Also have been told by Alcon that the fronts are rated for up to over 9000lbs. Chris recommended that before ordering to contact Alcon with your set up and they will walk you through what is needed for your particular application, I commented on my need for a towing setup and was told that a complete set would be More than adequate for me.I understand that this is Extremely Expensive but 15% is better than nothing and he is waving CC FEES......with frees shipping

We’ve had a lot of sports cars. And I can say these stop hard as those in rigs over 7klbs it’s probably the most impressive mod. Over the blower and suspension etc

I'm a regular guy just looking to up my braking performance while towing if it's overkill in 90% of my Daily driving that's a bonus too.I saved for 3 years for the Supercharger and have been looking at brake upgrades ever since.
I'm certainly not wealthy by any stretch and I don't try to buy into the latest fad either.

My conversation with Chris was to get as much info as I could ,you guys have helped me to make MY truck the way it is so I thought I'd try to give back to this community and get a discount on something that might be better. Even if we don't get enough intrest for the discount Alcon has offered I'll probably still purchase them anyway

There are much worse things to spend your money on. How much do most of us have in suspension that can handle whatever might come our way (even if that happens once or twice in the life of the truck..), or wheels and big tires cuz they look cool (and are a detriment to ride, handling, and MPG 99% of the time), or big huge bumpers that could destroy a rhinoceros (been a while since I've tried to run over a rhino...). We usually ADD weight to the vehicles with mods, not decrease it... :D

Makes sense to me to send money where it will improve braking longevity and stopping power - and by no small amount. Some people call that a safety improvement (whatever "safety" is... who is OSHA?). Most of the reports I've seen are in 30%+ reduction in stopping distance. And even at the price of entry, it's still cheaper than a fender bender, let alone a new truck. Bambi cost me a few grand last year, and that was just some bumper plastic, a few small dents, and a headlight (well, both headlights cuz they were due anyways). I was only doing 30 mph. Could been worse.
