Nice. Do you detach it, or is it a permanent fixture on the truck? will a hand pump work to pressurize it, or is a compressor needed?

 

It's bolted to the rack. It's not on any kind of quick release. You can pressurize it by the faucet, compressor, or hand pump. It has a pressure release valve and won't pressurize over 40psi. Works great for my needs.

Yeah, looking at my truck, I don't see how I can make the awning work. Sucks, because I'd love to do it. It's just a huge distance it would have to cover to get it above my head and be usable. A bracket would have to mount to the rack, extend something like 10-12 inches back to clear the tent, but also raise it up another 10-12 inches. I think anything supporting weight like that would come apart going down crappy roads. The RTT just hangs back too far and sits too low. If it were above my roof I'd pounce on the awning, but I don't think I can make it work.




I'm still looking at the size of the waterport in the itty bitty Taco bed to see how it could fit and mount up. Looking to try and keep it inside the bed rack, whether mounted to the underside, or the inside of the rack. Weighing 90 something pounds full presents a challenge, but if I can figure it out it'll be sweet.
