Cricket, she’s 10 and still in pretty much in charge. I’m just along for the ride.

 

Taking a break from chasing balls and relaxing poolside:

 

Beautiful dog. Is that a shepherd-labrador mix?

 

Oh I see. Cool. The 1st 3 breeds are evident in its features.

 

So my wife calls me around 5:30 on Wednesday, about when she gets off work, I'm in the middle of my workday.
She says "You're gonna kill me".
I replied, "Did you quit your job? I've been telling you to for years".
She says no, she rescued a dog from a busy intersection on the way home from work.

She took him to the vet yesterday.
They said he is between 9 months and a year, no mircochip.
He's a little skinny and his nails were a bit long.
Seems to be a stray that's been on his own for awhile.
Besides that, he is in good health.

Seems to be house-trained, doesn't mind a leash, and goes in a kennel on his own.
He is a bit leery of me.
Not really scared of me, but warming up slowly.
He barks at me when I come home from work like I don't belong there.
He will for sure be Mama's dog and I'm glad.
She always wanted a beagle, he seems to have a beagle body and a boxer head.

So we have a new addition to the family.
Maverick isn't really happy about it, but he'll warm up to him.

I present, MILO..
First night, I had to get a kennel out of storage.
He ended up sleeping on a dog bed in our bedroom.





Today, I took the day off..

 

That's awesome! He's a sharp looking pup, and the stories and memories have already started. Congrats on the newest addition.

 

I believe that this was meant to be; congrats on the beautiful new member of the family

At work I drive semis from Dallas to Louisiana and back.
Whenever I stop and see pups in a tractor at a truck stop, that is exactly what they look like waiting for the owners to come back.
Deadeye stare at the door, unless they see my brown uniform then they bark at me..

 

Great story, congrats to you and your wife for giving him a home.

Thank you. He was a pound pup. Vet believes its a Lab-Pitbull mix. He is almost 2 years old and about 65 lbs of muscle and bottomless toy chasing energy. There are many times when he really looks like a smaller version of a Great Dane or Dane mix at the very least.

Oh man good on you both for opening your hearts and home but don't forget to give 'ole Maverick extra love!
