EV's & Tundra's

This is the problem IMO. If the real usable range is almost 30% less than advertised then that's pretty shitty. Then an hour to "refuel" and it's just not viable where I live. I need to be able to cover 300 miles twice in a day on occasion, and I can currently do that with one fuel stop in the middle in each direction. Those fuel stops are 10 minutes if I have to pee. If I don't they are less.




The big question is if this is typical for all teslas or if the CT is uniquely thirsty.

 

I'm connected, only 2 bars of wifi at the car though.

It shows my software is up to date (still a 2023 #) as of today so I'm sure I'll get the latest here in a week or two

 

That doesn't help anyone today, though. If they redesign the battery pack are they going to let me bring in one I already own and swap it out?

 

That post, nor the info in the tesla screen, claim it is any kind of "issue" at all. I'm saying that if that is working as intended, it is a problem. I'm not saying there is a defect.

I want one too, but not the CT. It's gotta work for where I live and travel so the LR models are the only ones close to a budget I can dream about. Ideally I'd like a Model S or X for the extra range, but they cost more than I want to spend for a vehicle.

 

Same, I really want an X next. Maybe if the price keeps dropping over the next couple of years

 

Still out of reach. I'd really like to stay under 40, and that's basically only the 3 if it gets a credit. The only thing I want the S for is the looks and range. DGAF about the speed stuff. The X is the same reasons. Mostly for the added range over the 3/Y respectively.

 

Not sure if the range improved much in the last few years, but these Ys are not too far and priced where I'd consider them.

 

The range should be the same, minus the typical battery degradation but that should be minimal

 

Honestly, because the Taco would be the winter rig, I'd probably go for the Model 3 for the extra range. If I need to haul gear or go through snow drifts I'd be taking the truck anyway. Used prices are really similar on them as well, according to Tesla's site. One of each in Loveland, Colorado I would consider. Especially since used ones still qualify for a $4,000 tax credit. Don't know if they would take that off the top like on a new one, though.

 

The ones on Tesla would likely be what I would look at for the price. The warranty extensions they have are probably better than what will be had from some rando dealership, it's been inspected by the manufacturer (supposedly), and doesn't seem to be any more expensive. I'd definitely shop them because I'm pretty sure I could talk Sean into going to check one out if it was close enough to him. Years out on this thought process though. I want to have the Taco paid off, upgrade the bike, and get out of a bit of a hole I got into to help a friend before I even remotely consider anything like this. Who knows, what prices and rebates will be in a few years.
