They were a custom manufacture for trucks re-badged as "X-SP" package. There is a company in Jacksonville that makes them. They won't sell them to you unless you can prove you had an XSP badged truck, by giving them the X-SP VIN.

You can try to find a junkyard with an XSP and pilfer that way.

Just to avoid confusion since there's pictures of a standard double cab and an XS-P --

Standard double cab flare has a gap at the bumper:

Thank you, I've been meaning to go to a junkyard in south carolina to try and find one but I was hoping for a website online that would sell one instead of getting a used one but it seems like my only option.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Seems like a pretty bad business model. Spend tons of $ for machines to fabricate, $ to actually produce, Then turn away customers.
So you serve a limited number of trucks, and then only sell to a super limited number of those that will ever need a replacement.
What manufacturer would want to put the work into something that made so little profit? Was this something regulated by Toyota I imagine?
18 plus year old trucks, and it's not like they are a fkn exclusive Ferrari or something:rofl:

When i had my bed off of the frame this last summer, i unthreaded the upper shock nuts and smeared anti seize on the threads then reinstalled the nuts. This was all in anticipation of installing Bilsteins this coming summer.

I want to add to this...
A HIGH quality powdercoat job will last a long time outdoors. I’m just shooting from the hip, but from my own past experience, most aftermarket accessory production companies do a piss poor job on the metal prep and powder coverage. I bought a brand new Trailready winch bumper for my 2nd gen dodge cummins and rust started forming in about 9 months. My sister recently had Trail Ready bumpers installed on her 2021 Ram cummins. That powdercoating lasted about 6 months before rust started showing up...and here in oregon they don’t salt the roads. I’ve had many other bumpers/tire carriers/ axle housings/ skid plates/ handrails, ect powdercoated locally and have had excellent results.

Yup. Trying to find someone who is willing to lay it on thick without it looking like ass is tough. But it’s only as good as its contiguousness. If there is any place where the coating transitions to metal - i.e. the coating doesn’t 100% encapsulate the steel with no breaks/cracks/seams/thin spots - you’re at risk, solely because the coating doesn’t truly bond with the steel. If PC had some significant, water-resistant mechanical bond with the steel it coated, to the same degree a good self-etch primer did, it would be phenomenally compelling product. We wouldn’t be having this convo. Cars would all be powder coated. There’s a reason auto manufacturers still use paint, it’s not like they want to spend the extra $$$ or anything. It’s just superior at the job.

Look for junkyards with Sequoias as well, their front fenders are the same as Double Cabs with a few exceptions due to the shape of the lights:

01-04 Sequoia front fenders only fit 04 Double Cabs.
05-07 Sequoia front fenders only fit 05-06 Double Cabs.

I would guess sure that just the flares are the same across all Double Cabs and Sequoias though.

I posted pictures of my bumper on my Instagram and others said the same thing. When done properly, people have had powder coating last many years. I'm pretty sure they just butchered this job.

I'm going to start hitting it with a wire wheel and see what it looks like.

Pssssssh Huskey and HF/ Icon for the win, maybe a few kobalts sprinkled in here and there

However I get to start over completely. I used to have pretty much every single specialty tool that you can need to work on a Volkswagen. I'm not sure if they got lost in the move from Virginia to Texas or if my two at the time 4 year old niece and nephews made them go to Narnia when they used to go play in the garage when they lived at my house. However I can find none of that s*** there was probably $20,000 in tools and I get to start from scratch bases zero and rebuild all of that. You have never been more Angry than I can't find $20,000 worth of tools and I need them to cjange this clutch level of angry

Whatever fits the bolt or nut and doesn't break works for me. Good tools are good. Bad tools are bad. All the normal tools in the middle work just fine for me. My "Companion" tools (the cheaper Sears tools from years ago) have never failed me. I've had the 1/2" ratchet apart once for cleaning and lubing. I buy tools I need from wherever I can get them at a reasonable price. I know when I hold a tool if it's Fisher Price level, or real wrenching worthy. Doesn't have to be spendy for me.

my logic is whatever fits and doesn’t strip it. Even between the SnapOn and Craftsman wrenches. There is a noticeable difference in the ability of the SnapOn to engage and really bite down on stubborn nuts/bolts and not strip the heads. This is even more true for the sockets

If I had $12,000 to outfit a Snapon toolbox (not even sure that would do it), I would buy the same off brand tools for $3k and take my wife on a couple of all inclusive Mexico vacations.

It’s an investment really only for Techs or shop owners. If you’re an “shade tree” guy. Stick with whatever quality tools you can get. SnapOn’s has some sort of credit thing where buying and paying for the tools increases your credit score. I’m not 100% sure how it works but I know that’s why my dad had a fuck load of SnapOn tools (the ones passed down to me) and that’s why a lot of Techs get them.

Just looked at Snap-On’s website, which absolutely blows on mobile btw, and a modest mechanics tool box at 54.5” starts at $12k. For just the box. F that. I’m not sure how someone could afford the box and smoke the crack they would need to for it to make sense.

You could honestly for the same money is spend on Snap-on so on average you're looking at somewheres between 38 and $50,000 for a toolbox and a full load out. And I don't mean like shop level load out I'm talking like I have a house and a 1.5 car garage level loadout. You could go to Harbor Freight by their big toolbox and completely stack it for not even $20,000. That gives you like 18 to $30,000 left over in your pocket to go do whatever the f*** you want with like put a four post lift in your garage and then still have money for a vacation. I've got buddies that own shops in Virginia and in Maine and in New York and Pennsylvania and they just laugh when the Snap-on guy's truck rolls by because they're like if you go to Harbor Freight get their icon stuff or if you get Craftsman tools even if they break which all tools break did you just replace them for free. In the cheap tools do just a good job is the really expensive tools. The only thing you want to go high dollar with are your air impact guns battery operated impact guns in your torque wrenches and have them calibrated yearly
