Response from the shop that powder coated my bumper.

"I'm sorry this has occurred. Circumstantially, we are well outside of the warranty period, although I do not disagree with you that this is indeed failed powder coating in the weld seams. Welds can present their own issues when it comes to coating and my apologies again that this has happened."

Sounds like they acknowledge this was their issue. I asked what they are willing to do.

Well shitballs. Newegg sent me a refund since they didn't have another 6700xt in stock, which I found a few, but different brands. I think I'll just go with a 7600xt. It came out this quarter, but is a step above the base model card. Opinions? And remember, I don't play new AAA titles. Minecraft(bedrock edition). Terraria. Fallout(1997).

While i wait, the jba bushings had grooves to stuff with grease, think i'd do myselves any favors by making some grooves in the poly steering rack bushings?

 

I mean if you really want to get down to nitty gritty comparisons, I always default to UserBenchmark: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/

Tht's the GPU section but they have user-submitted benchmarks for everything. Mind you, some of the submissions are people OC'ing the crap out of their stuff, with nitro cooling and other such wildness, but the commoners using more-stock solutions typically drown them out.

You can also Google like this to get a head-to-head:

It'll drop you into the UserBenchmark "compare" section where you can use the dropdowns to run a head-to-head. Sadly the 7600-XT doesn't have a ton of stats on it because it's new for this quarter, so results are going to be skewed until more people install and run the benchmark tool against it, to upload their stats into the system. You should take the input with a grain of salt, but that comparison page (link) will give you blow-by-blow specs and where each card is stronger or weaker.

Oh and be aware @bmf4069 they make these little quick-toggle buttons for "comparable" cards so you can quickly head-to-head without using their search feature, just to find the "right" card for you.

I checked that site out. Problem is that 7600xt is too new. Tom's hardware, who helped me a lot on my GPU issue, had a good article on it. I think I'm leaning towards the 6700xt even though it's older.

 

Yep, you can see the lack of data in the graphs. And it shows it's a Q1/2024 release. You'd need to wait for specs.

Lube only to make it easier to install. A little silicone spray which quickly dries is what I'd use.
