Is there a difference between Vtails and Hottails? They are about the same price so is there a pro/ con of getting one over the other?upload_2024-2-2_19-46-13.pngupload_2024-2-2_19-46-22.png

Hot Tails is put out by @memario1214 so if you have any issues, you have a direct line to the guy in charge.

Don't know anything about V Tails.

Colton or @memario1214 uses V-LEDs for his Hot-Tail setup, I can't confirm if they are exactly the same and one.
But as @GODZILLA said, going through Colton would warrant you free shipping and tax free (most part), which can be a $10 or more difference.
Besides, Colton is very active on here, and a lot of us have hot-tail setup so we can always help.

 Colton here! I'm actually the guy who developed HotTails. I used VLEDS V6 Triton products as a base on which to develop my system as they were the only ones (and still to this day I believe) who had a true hi/low 921 red bulb which is the upper bulb in this system, and a critical component.

VLEDS saw what I was building and after about 6ish months reverse engineered it. It's easy to figure out since all they had to do was look at what I was ordering from them, and then figure out the wiring :anonymous: It's hard to say that I blame them though as it's admittedly a pretty cool product. They could have at least not stolen the name too  (HotTails... then Vtails? C'mon now ) That said, I try to not get all bent out of shape about the topic as I need them for the raw materials as much as they needed me for the idea to begin with. At their core, they are nearly the same product, now. At least in terms of function. That said, if you pick them up from us here at Hotshot Offroad you get a few perks:
    • Peace of mind that you're getting them from the original source and creator of the product + the support on the product side moving forward
    • We ship all kits fully assembled so you won't need to figure out bulb orientation assembly when they arrive whereas VLEDS kits require assembly
    • We ship all of our kits for free which VLEDS does not
    • For now, we also offer no tax on all sales as well which may carry different weight depending on where you live
If you have any questions about them I am happy to answer whatever you need to know!

Thank you for the info. I didn’t realize this was the case, definitely will not give them my business

    To say this:
This is business, fair and square, minus the name part. Like Colton said, not hard for VLEDs to figure out what he was doing from his orders (I mean, really....)
But yea, to do that to a customer of yours is just shitty, not to say the name is a copy-cat.

Not only because I like Colton (I do), but the fact is small businesses need our support, and Colton has been nothing but awesome and straightforward about what he can/'t do. There are times where he just couldn't meet me where I like to be, price-wise, but that's also because I was really low-balling.
If you would give him the business, you will like it a lot, and you will end up spending more than intended, exactly what I did, bought a bunch of stuff from him and no regrets, either.

I had no idea VLEDs was offering this.
Love their product, but this was kind of a dick move on their part.

I would go with Colton Hotshot Offroad
He developed this setup and did all the research and development on it.
I sat on the fence for about a year on getting the Hottails.
But I hate any aftermarket tail light and I always thought there must be a way to incorporate the 2 upper and lower red tails to work together.
@memario1214 figured it out and I finally bought his product.

I should have bought it sooner.

    Sorry about the wind noise...

You tell me, this video doesn't even do them justice..
The brake lights are even brighter....
