If you can afford a wash at that price, you can afford a tip. She knows I went above for what she chose. I could have rushed this and had it done in half of the time.
My tip I’m giving myself…prices gonna go up. I searched around again, and I’m def lower than most but I did that to get the side business going

I'm w/your buddy (exteriors only)... a lot of people treat the inside of the cars like it's the unseen yard on the side of their house :eek2:

I'd want no part in doing interiors as it would almost always turn into a complete detail and not just a vacuum and wipe down....

She did tip. If you had only done the package selected, not gone above and beyond, would the tip have been adequate?

If I take my truck in for an oil change, and then the find out my alternator is going and replace it without asking me, I'm not paying for anything but the oil change. I budgeted for an oil change so anything extra, though appreciated, is at their digression and their expense.

I'm purely playing devils advocate to show other perspectives. I agree it sucks that all that work only got you $125 bucks, but I don't think it was personal or that your response should drop to a personal "that bitch" level. It's a lesson learned, and you'll make sure you're fairly compensated in the future.

So... how much to clean my truck that hasn't been cleaned for the duration of my ownership? :p:D

Lead acid for $240. Not sure what brand as it's labelled with the name of the shop where I got it and I didn't look at it too closely.

On a better note, I’m meeting with my buddy today at his shop (I’ll get pix) to get some website / pricing input.

Ok, stupid question: how long do you guys normally have to charge your new batteries? Mine's been on the charger for 18 hours and it's still not fully charged.

Yeah, it should come fully charged. Hopefully you didn't get the old one on the shelf.

My dad always told me to throw a new battery on the charger just to check but when I texted him about it, he said "they should come charged".

Guy at the battery shop claims they checked the voltage before they sold me the battery and it should be good.

    Interesting.. maybe it's your charger?

I would pull it off the charger and check the voltage after a couple hours

Plus the fact that you said she wasn't even hot. That would have made a difference.

I even did a quick spray wax (not included) and she noted it, but it was "oh, there a spray of wax here not wiped off".

After being off the charger for about 2 hours, my tester says it's good. Sitting right at 1000 cranking volts, which is what it's rated for, which works out to 11.2V according to my tester.

(Picture of tester while not connected for reference only. Needle was in the green for 1000 cranking volts.)

Anyone better at Google than me know what to torque the battery clamp to? I thought I read on here they they're over tightened from the factory but I can't find it now.

I don't know that there's an official torque number. Always just tighten then until it can't budge on the battery post. :notsure:

I’ve seen his shop a lot lol. He also has a water filter in there, hear/ac etc
I updated my pricing and added in a time limit “not to exceed” X hours
He also asked if I would help him ceramic vehicles and split the labor. I agreed as he can also teach me a few things. He’ll call me on his next one

Not too much - - just enough so that you can't twist it on the terminal by hand. Too tight and it could distort the terminal and cause it to leak.
