Lots of you already know, some of
You do not, but we have developed a skid plate that specifically fits the TRD Pro 3” lift kit, and other lift kits that drop the sway bar.

Of course we need a photo!

Also, we are working on fuel tank skids as well, and a fully adjustable bed rack!

What questions do you have, what do you want to see next? Why wouldn’t you buy this?

I was able to modify my TRD skid plate to fit. But I still might be interested in this because with the TRD mod I did it is currently slid under the sway bar and it looks like this one will somewhat protect the sway.

With the mod I did it makes it half way difficult to take the plate off because you have to slide it out from under the sway bar. This makes changing the oil a bit more difficult. Or at least I assume it is. I only have 2k miles on it so I haven't change the oil yet.

But.. How difficult is it to change the oil with this one? And do you plan to have any other colors than black?

only black and bare aluminum. If you email us we can send you a bare steel one.

I would recommend an oil drain valve to help with the oil change. I personally like one with a nipple so I can run a tube to it.

there is a hole for the oil drain, and a door to get to the oil filter.

I would love to see a steel front bumper that holds up and has tow hooks as part of the front bumper.

Bumpers and Rock sliders are something that is being worked on. The bronco and F-150 is gonna be first. Once I figure out a recipe that I like, I’ll be able to adjust it over to the Tundra.

hardest part is finding a shape/design I like on the bumper.

Here is a Teaser picture of the aluminum step/slider for the the F-150. I am hoping to weld it up and do a little bit of testing with the forklift.

I will not claim that Aluminum is strong enough for everyone, and if you are regularly hitting the rocks there are not for you… but for 90% percent of people with sliders who want them for the one time whoops, and save a ton of weight this is for you.

I tested a set on the bronco and they did exponentially better than I expected.

    First, thanks for update!

Personally can’t wait to get a set along with fuel skid. You asked so… I understand the functionality of the holes but it looks odd to me. I did a riff on your slots motif you have & your logo. It could be sized down a bit to allow for more strength. Hope you don’t mind, just trying to make it, well …..more gucci.

Interesting. I prefer a blank/clean skid. Holes will allow foreign material (FM) up in to engine area. For my talon skid, I added a piece of ABS behind the logo. Now if the holes are required beyond aesthetic, different story.

Something that keeps me awake staring at the ceiling at night is wondering how many people don't buy our skid plates because the logo cutout and vent holes.

When the price is right, concessions are made. In my case it's a personal preference. I prefer no bling stock appearing. No way I'm crawling under a truck in parking lot to see who's skid they are running.

    Now get some sleep.

The TRD Pro optional skidplate wont work with the factory 3" lift? I was planning on adding the TRD skid to mine.

OP, can you provide a link to your aftermarket skid plate pictured here? Whats it made of and how thick? I was also planning on adding the AFE tow hooks so this might be just what I need.

options are 10 Gauge steel, and 1/4” Aluminum.

    https://talonsgarage.com/products/toyota-tundra-2022-2023-engine-skid-plate

The one to two week lead time is probably not super accurate as I think we are keeping a few on the shelf.

Got it. Thanks. Is it a 100% bolt on fit? Even with the factory 3" lift"? And it fits with the AFE tow hooks? And you don't need to take it off to change the oil? And it's cheaper than the TRD Pro OEM part? Sounds like a winner!

Those are all correct. We do strongly recommend an oil change valve. We try to make the hole fairly large…. But don’t want it to be too big!

I am both Jealous of the snow, but thankful we don't have any!

I rather go through Hurricane Katrina again VS the snow storm we had two years ago.

I have the regular version on my 23 Limited (no lift) and I really like it, but have to admit the large logo gave me pause before ordering it. I really like the idea posted above.

I need a set for my very similar truck, look great. So no logo on the front plate with the lift? I prefer the clean look of no cutouts personally.

Do you have any pictures of the front of the truck? It looks like you have the AFE tow hooks on and I am curious how low they end up with the TRD sway bar drop.

I concur. Can the logo be painted instead of a cutout? Are all the screws stainless and can they be painted in matching black?

@Talon2006, Do you happen to know if this skidplate will also work with a CBI Covert front bumper? Or do you guys make something similar too?

At this time I am not sure.

We are also not making bumpers yet... but I am starting to work on them for the Bronco. Once I figure out a recipe I like, the others will come soon. Same with rock sliders and bed racks.

Right now bed racks and rock sliders are winning the race!

Well crud! I need a decent front tow hook option that works well with a decent skidplate option! The TRD pro plate dont work with the 3" lift. The AFE tow hooks suck, yet they work with the Talon skid plate. And the CBI bumper might be a solution but it remains unknown if they work with a good skid plate option. What to do?

The biggest question is how far back the bumper goes. They might work together just fine.
