    Yep, I know.

My old CU offered a collateral loan on our 2015 Sequoia with 120k miles for $32-33k and we bought it for $27ish with 68k miles.

Gullo Toyota is a bad word in my house

I agree, this sounds like a terrible trade in.

This is extremely mild to the majority I've seen. At least it doesn't have rubber band tires and mirror finish wheels

Guess what? Stuff you've done to your truck doesn't resonate with me either and yet it's your truck and I don't tell you it looks stupid.

I think they lowballed him for sure. Would've been better had he asked his bank for a NADA valuation.

If it weren't DC, which I need CM for the interior space, I would love that truck. 100K miles is fine and level kit is nice, the front chrome taken care off.
May not like some stuff on top, but that's easily fixed.
I think he could have pushed for $25K.Of course, you need something to back that up, such as CarMax/Fax offers and all that.
Recently sold my Pilot, dealer offered $2K under my asking, as soon as I pulled the CarMax offer, he countered and match it without asking more questions on it.
You can push it some further, not much but maybe better.

So the move wasn't exactly to get a newer truck, but to piss off the neighbor?

I guess that's the difference between you and I.
If you see something, say something..

Feel free to comment about my truck, I don't care.
You're not going to hurt my feelings.
No need to get all butthurt about my comment on your pal's former truck..:(

The hood lights look stoopid as well.

He actually traded in a newer truck for an older one, but the 'new' to him' truck does have less mileage.

But I think you may be one to something here.
    Maybe it's a spite purchase..:rolleyes::cool:

22k is real low for that trade in. I was just offered 18k for a base 2016 Highlander with about 65k mileage. The car was 33xxxish brand new…

I present to you exhibit A.

    Guadalupe_Nima2.jpg

Guadalupe Peak is 8,750 ft above sea level and is the highest natural point in TX.

But yes damn near everywhere else in S TX is lower than a well digger's ball sack

Seems like a bad deal all the way around. Only positive I can see is the increase in cab space. But there was a significant cost to get it.

I would grade this deal an F.

Note - we didn't even discuss the new interest rate on the debt. I can't imagine that was a good deal either based on how the rest went.
