They're 2WD spindles, and they have new bearings per the ad. I'm pretty sure the 2WD spindles can be converted to 4WD spindles fairly easily though, and 4WD spindles can be converted to 2WD with outer CV tulips.

Dollar for dollar, it is easier to find a clean Land Cruiser than a clean FGT. While I was shopping for my FGT I would stumble across similar year/condition/mileage 100 series and tundras, and the tundra was always more expensive. I ended up paying more for my 04 DC with more miles and more problems than I did my 99 100 series 8 years ago o_O

Ahh, I see. This is why I stfu if it's anything more than intake gaskets. Plus I haven't seen 2wd spindles.

Did you recently buy your Tundra? Times are certainly different now. I could get double what i paid for my Tundra almost 6 years ago, right now. But I get what youre saying!

Purchased my Tundra in December of 2023! While shopping for it I was surprised that between the same condition FGT and 100 series, the FGT was generally more expensive.

I don't know for sure, may be worth just finding a yard with more than one and getting under and checking casting codes to see, but I suspect @TheBlackMamba is right on his guess.

Took the truck down a roughish gravel ROW, happy to report it wasnt noticably rougher than with my old shocks. And nothing broke or fell apart. Polo was able to stand comforably on my center console, and it might be placebo, but the truck didnt seem to lean side to side as much where one side or the other is washed out.

Most definitely, unfortunately for me all the yards are 1 hour plus away so running down there is a commitment lol.

At my own expense, here's a funny story:

During a previous quest for later model spindles, I came across one at my local pick-a-part. Giddy as a school girl, I packed up my tools and took off for the yard. Upon finding the vehicle, I was pleased with how little I had to remove. So I hacked and slashed my way through the rest of it, tossed them in the wheel barrow, and made my way to the counter.

As I'm making my victorious walk to the exit, I start to reflect on my mission. "I'm so happy this is finally done, I can't believe they had them... I wonder how much they'll charge me? I didn't even have to break the axle nut loose...wait a minute...break the axle nut loose, why didn't I have to...FML these are 2wd!"

I was defeated and broken, but I made the long walk back to the truck and laid those useless 2wd spindles to rest.

    V-double-eeeeewwwwww

Yeah, naw. Around here, LC or LX470 (J100, my fave) you're lucky to get out the door under $20k around here for a decent one, no wrecks, nicely optioned, under 180k miles, and not a shitbox someone ragged on. I can easily get a 1GT for 20-50% less.

For real. Back when FGTs were still cheap AF ($4-9k), LCs were like $15-30k here

I was shocked when I found a couple in the high teens a year or two ago while shooting the shit with FGV here on the forum that looked pretty solid, down in FL.

Believe me, I was looking long and hard, deciding whether I wanted to sell my FGT and build out a J100 instead, or what. Reality is, I kinda need a truck, and I'm not sure I could get by with a J100 alone. As much as I'd love it, I don't need two 2UZ-FE vehicles at the same time.
