That experiment is pretty much done. It's a very nice vehicle & rather advanced for 2006.
It's handling the glacier I call a driveway better than any vehicle I've owned during my residence at this driveway.
That said, I'm ready to sell it. I gathered my data, analyzed it & concluded this vehicle should be passed on to owner #3.

I bought it because I wanted something big to handle a weekly journey I was making.
I bought it because it's a really clean example.
I bought it because it's not a Toyota & I was pissed off at the local Toyota repair center (still am).

My weekly journey is done. It's random now, so something big less urgent.
Can't see shit out of it. limo tint cab windows & limo tint cap windows = double limo tint looking rearward. Tiny side windows adds to the fun.
It's not a Toyota. I hate how it drives. Hate it can't exhale. Maybe $600 would have it dressed in long tubes but... eh. Transmission is very busy. Seats are built for Sumo body size. I'm svelte like ninja, so while comfy - seats are too wide for me. Lazy-Boy sofa, but I prefer Recaro Sofa.

Tailgate opening to the side is VERY useful
Trunk under bed floor VERY useful
Full size tire fits in bed trunk without using up useable space is kinda awesome. Clean rust-free spare is just nice.
Came factory with LED dash, in dash back up camera, am/fm/6 disk/satelite/full controls steering wheel.
Never have to worry about a frame recall.
Has the side curtain airbags that Tundra might or might not have.

I had to yank the steering wheel at about 80 to avoid someone who intentionally tried to wreck me on the highway 2 sunday back. Not sure why the truck didn't roll, but it didn't & with no excitement at all. It's really very well behaved.

It's a good truck, but for someone else. Mostly the big chair, choked exhaust, busy transmission. All fixable but - meh.

Man, I hope the lower bushings last long on the F150s than they do on the 1GTs. Keep eyes peeled on those.

@CodyP happy belated. I dunno how I missed that!

Agreed, saw that video. Lifetime warranty if not though. Lubed the selectors up real well to avoid that problem. I would be shocked if I own it long enough to find out. Probably should have just thrown some pucks on it. Out less the 500 for the front Rancho's, new UCA's, and rear KYB's. So not too bad.

Fun with GM V8s. BIL’s 2018 6.2 tear down for DOD delete post cylinder #5 lifter failure. New cam and non-DOD lifters, DOD delete with HP tuner to follow. Messed around with it for a couple hours tonight.

It’s displacement on demand (DOD) or active fuel management (AFM). It’s the 4 cylinder mode the V8 GM engines use to “save fuel”. They use a collapsible lifter to deactivate half of the cylinders to save fuel. The collapsible lifters fail. Often. They ruin the motor in the process usually. Hoping we can save this one.

Awesome! Thanks for that, I had heard about that option? But didn’t know it would sooner or later kill the motor.
I hate hearing the auto start cars next to me at a light, I know it’s a different starter technology but it still seems stupid for 3-30 seconds of sitting at a light

My chevy did that. It was always fun watching it go from V4 to V8 when you floored it. 70 was about the max it would stay in V4 mode though, so kinda useless on the highway.
