After spending the weekend with family and friends, I've come to the realization that no one I know sees their car the way I do mine. Except for an employee.
I tend to use unallocated money (cash backs, rebates, tips) for fun stuff. Since I got the truck, I've been using it for mods. I usually average between$1500 to $2000 a year. The year I got it, I impulse bought the trd exhaust. The following year, I've got the tonneau cover and other goodies. So this year I'm all exited deciding what to do next. As I'm asking questions/opinions during this past get together and I've got the following:
Thats cool but do you really need it.
Isn't that a bit excessive (talking about the transfer flow gas tank)
Don't you want to put that on the house (we got a new house this year and WE aka wife is house modding) We have a budget for that by the way.
But the following annoyed me the most:
How long do you think that truck is going to last?
I've only bought two vehicles my whole life. A 1995 4runner right out of high school that I still have and the tundra.
That's when I knew I needed to find people that appreciate their vehicles a little more.
Needless to say, that finally pushed me into joining my favorite website of tundra related info and stop lurking.
Here are some not so great pictures:

I've definitely been looking at that thread for ideas.
Tires will wait until the stocks ones wear out. Lift I'm still on the fence. I actually liked the height as it is, but the more I look at it, specially the front end I can't get this image out of my head
Seeing some awesome lifted trucks here with bigger tires doesn't help either.
That's what I tell her. If I would've taken better care of the 4runner, it would still be running without issues. My brother has a 2003 tundra with 155000 miles and it still runs like new.

My employee actually said I needed one.
Very true. Our vehicles are more than just transportation.
I will when the time comes. I've only heard good things about you guys.
That amount is what I can spend without any justification. Any more has to go through the committee aka the wife.:ballchain:
But then again, maybe I can write it of as "business expenses":spy:

Thanks everyone else for the warm welcome.
