IMG_6428.jpg IMG_6422.jpg IMG_6423.jpg Cross post of something i posted in the suspension thread:

It needed an upgrade as we have an all terrain camper on the truck 80% of the time.
Old man emu full kit all around. Had wheelers assemble everything including extra leaf on the Dakar pack. She’s a bit of a stink bug stance right now but should settle down.
So the question; the bracket on the Daystar cradles no longer touches the axle tube, bottom of pic attached you can see the mark where it used to touch, and it needs new bolts.
So has anyone used the cradles on a much thicker leaf pack? Bolts are easy, just concerned about the bracket being secure enough.
    thanks!

I have the same setup. Mine have been fine for years with towing and off-roading. If you’re concerned and want the it to touch again you could cut a steel plate like this and bolt it in :monocle:

Ended up talking to a guy at work that’s a welder, asked him to just cut a matching piece that I could bolt together, but he wanted to cut it, add a piece in and weld it all together. It worked great, but I needed to get it put back together so I forgot a picture.

For a great discussion about differential drops on Toyotas after a lift, I recommend this excellent video by Tinkerer's Adventure. Short version of this gent's well-reasoned engineering opinion is that (a) it's a vehicle dependent analysis; and (b) on Gen2 Tundra and above, no.

I remember when my dakars were stout and I had gap between my bags and cradles. My leafs are so sagged after about 4 years it’s wild.

For those with the OME 2614 springs in front… were you able to install the spring with stock UCA? Thanks

This isn't an answer from experience, but the 2614 on a truck with no extra weight is probably going to lift more than 3" and require UCAs.

I just ordered a full OME setup with 2614 springs and Dakars for my truck. Just to be safe I also ordered a set of SPC UCAs. I went with the 2614 to support a bumper while still keeping some rake as it seems like the 2613 and Dakar combo would be level with a bumper (which is what I don't want).

Wrapped up my install of the OME Nitrochargers, 2614 springs, and Dakar leaf springs. As it sits right now, I'm at 2.5" over stock all around and that is with an ARB Summit bumper (no winch). This was the exact height I was looking for. I'd expect 3" if running 2614s without the bumper. I'm sure it'll settle a bit.

Some quick observations. First, OME has updated their shocks recently. They come with a newer dust boot, looks pretty sharp. The coil seat on the front shock is completely different. The shocks shipped with spacers that can be added to compensate for lean or bumpers. Since I ordered my shocks assembled, these spacers were shipped loose. They go between the shock and coil seat. The OME shackles are about 1/2" longer than the stock shackles, so likely another 1/4" lift out of that. The Dakars ship with a Toyota style rubber bushing, so you could use the stock shackle if you wanted to. I opted for the full OME greasable kit with new bushings. Driving the bushings out of the springs with a ball joint press and impact were easy. Very easy kit to install overall.

Here’s a pic after an alignment and about 100 miles. With the SPC UCA set to +1* of caster I’m at 2.8* and the alignment cams are mostly centered.

As far as the change to the Nitrochargers… here’s a pic.

    IMG_1208.jpg

The coils are now a matte finish and the spring seat is completely different from the older versions.

I’m still sitting at about 2.5” front and 2” rear over stock. Very happy with how it turned out. Rides firm, but not harsh.

Could you include your setup details, including where you purchased it? Your setup is about perfect. Thanks
