Still looks sexy. I don't expect their EV tech to be on par with Tesla, and you are going to pay a premium for the name, but it's going to look good.

 

Fun thought. Think of all the auto makers that have poor reliability reputations. EVs are a godsend to them. All they have to do is follow the Tesla model and go full EV and their reliability issues evaporate, so long as they aren't completely retarded with the EV stuff.

IDK. Every time I take I-80 down to Utah I see Porsches. Even some Lambos and Ferraris, but way more Porsches. Probably because of the "super" cars they are the ones that are actually fairly reliable.

It's been the industry standard for a century, so trying to call it an "issue" isn't going to fly. Not speaking from the media perspective. They just do what they are told to push the narratives and agendas. I mean for the general population. You can't seriously expect me to think that doing basic maintenance on a machine is a problem. It's just the standard for it.

I'm pro free market and want all the options that are viable to be available and not propped up by subsidies and crap. If the product costs X dollars to make, so you have to sell it at Y to make a profit, then the only thing you have to do is convince the market that Y is a reasonable price. If the market buys it, you're in business. If it doesn't, you're out of business. I want less strongarm regs from bureaucrats and the elite, and more practical innovations from those motivated to elevate their brand/product.

Yes. Back away from the whole thing a tad. EV’s get admonished for all types of crap, yet ice vehicles don’t. All that maintenance is an issue and countable when you compare to an ev. It levels the conversation

There's just some very affluent areas there. The Utah economy has been booming for decades, so much so that it's almost been recession proof. That's because they are fiscally conservative when voting, but pretty socially liberal without going into full blown insanity.

I still remember the Ferrari Testarossa that followed me down a narrow, slow and curvy road. I had about 5 minutes of this thing in my rear view doing no more than 20 MPH and it still looks fast AF.

 

The media's bread and butter comes from playing to confirmation biases on both sides of every issue. They aren't "reporting" what is happening anymore. They are trying to stir shit up because it gets eyeballs. People don't watch mundane everyday stuff going on without a hitch, but they bust out the popcorn for a train wreck. If there isn't a train wreck, create one. That's the media.

 

I'm not fully in agreement here. Mainly because it still keeps it at a combative level. There doesn't have to be a winner and a loser, a better and a worse. Both have their place and do things differently, so trying to compare them and "level the conversation" isn't fair to either, IMO. Both are viable, both are good, both should be available to purchase in their best forms.
