Yeah, that's a big bummer for me. I put my hand on the wheel like this ALL the time. Randomly turning shit on or off would suck. I also don't think I'd like the yoke they use in the upper models. I get that they want to innovate, but wheels, whether rolling on the ground or in your hand for steering, are round for a reason. Literally trying to reinvent the wheel.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I have the same Tundra steering wheel as you.

and I agree...the Tesla buttons are not great for folks like you and I that would have to use both.

however; if you just had Tesla, one would probably adapt fairly quickly.

    Hell, we adapted to IPhones!

Yeah, I am pretty sure the Taco, 4Runner, and Tundra all share the same steering wheel. Some years have different colors or slight variations in button layout, but it's the old Toyota standard of "ain't broke, don't fix it" that makes us love them.

Oh yeah definitely missing the various brake stopping modes. Most likely what you said...
Once he's on the current firmware he'll have it. My Y's screen (on the current firmware):

Hard to say. Teslas are the best EVs on the market, but they also are constantly overpromised and underdelivered.

Hypocrisy is what they do. Preach and push the doom and gloom green agenda, but also snub the one EV maker that believes it too and makes a usable product because the CEO says things they don't like politically. Completely works in the kind of insanity that is rampant on that side of the spectrum.

So CT prices are going to come down in a few years to match what was promised, or is that going to stay in the underdelivered category?

 Car prices have been steadily rising. Look what a car cost 60 years ago compared to now. They aren't dropping.

This pissed my wife off so much. Meanwhile my FJ is worth 3/4 of what I paid 17 years ago.

February 2019 they announced the Model 3 standard range for $35,000. Current Standard range Model 3 price is $38,990.

    What price drops?

I meant the Model Y is lower than originally launched, with a peak price of $66,xxx for the LR

I paid $62k(?) for my M3P. Brand new

It was 50k something last time I checked (its not showing on Teslas page currently)

    That is a price drop.

    Model Y? Same shit.

Mine was also before all this tax stuff was available

As for the price drops, I don't think it'll continue. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Y comes with a bump in price, and if the 3 doesn't drop because they are making the commuter one that will fill the "cheap" gap.

Honestly, the most appealing thing they have is the S and the X because of the range. I wish they'd come out with a dumbed down version that wasn't quick, but lower the price. Let the performance junkies pay for it, but let us normies get the awesome range without paying for all the track stuff that 80-90% of users will never use.

Fair enough, but that doesn't mean price drops for everything. I showed that the price is up on the base Model 3. Don't know the rhyme or reason to their pricing, but it's not always down. I'd love it if they did, though. If I could get the new 3 Long Range for $35k in a few years, I think I'd pull the trigger.
