I have a 06 4x2 SR5. Is there a power seat conversion available. I like to lower the front tilt and maybe extend the seat portion forward. My other ride is a 2004 Lexus LS. I really enjoy the seat adjustment on the Lexus.

Power seats were an option. You truck likely has the wire harness tucked under the carpet. You just need to find a power seat in the junk yard or something and install it and plug it in. I'm saying this with about 80% confidence.
My 06 Limited has a power driver seat and so does my 03 SR5.

I swapped power front seats from an 07 Sequoia into my non- power seated 06 Tundra DC. Bolted right in and the driver's side connected right up and power functions work. Have to run power for the passenger side. Be aware there are side airbag seats and non- side airbag seats.

Adding to this, you will know the donor truck has side curtain airbags if there is an “RSCA OFF” button on the dash panel to the left of the steering wheel. Same area where the dash gauges dimmer switch lives. Oval shaped button.

Thanks for all of the tips. Another Tundra or Sequoia and check for side air bags or RSCA OFF button.

What effect would the side airbag seats have if the truck was not originally equipped?

@digitalferg did you find your seats on eBay or at a junkyard? Were these more plush / more foam cushion than the standard tundra seats?

did yours have heated seats? If so, what about the controls for the heater?

I just found a passenger seat the same color as mine at a reasonable price on eBay but still looking for a driver's seat. Trying to decide if I should pull the trigger

Shouldn't be a problem to put airbag seats in a non-airbag-seat truck... other than now there's airbags sitting there in the seats... In theory they could malfunction I guess? I'm not an airbag systems expert.

I found mine on LKQ online and had them shipped.

I have gray cloth Tundra interior so I wanted as close to.the same as possible. The powered Sequoia ones are more adjustable than the manual Tundra ones that were in my DC. I'm not sure, but I don't think they really have any more foam or anything, just more adjustability. Which makes them way more comfortable, IMO.

I did not find heated ones, but I would have liked too. But it was hard enough just finding nice ones, in gray cloth, with airbag, and with power. I didn't have heated to begin with, so I didn't worry about having to have it.

The gray cloth material is not a perfect match between the Sequoia and Tundra, but the color was spot on. A sharp eye would notice the difference, but I run full canvas seat covers anyway so not a huge deal.

Also, some folks have had to swap the seat belt receivers on the seats, but I did not have to swap mine around. My Sequoia seats came from an 07 and I have an 06 Tundra DC.

i'm kinda new to the forums, but sounds like LKQ is legit?

looks like a great deal, of course other than shipping so if it's not right, it cost more to return it. Seems like you're rolling the dice without seeing a real picture instead of a stock picture

Download the PYP app. They post photos of all the cars that arrive at the junk yard. You can also set up notification so they let you know when new 04-06 tundras and sequoias arrive

    https://apps.apple.com/app/id1273929827

I wonder if gx470 seats would be a direct bolt in

Sometimes there is actually pics of the actual seats. Mine had actual pics. But still was a risk that they'd be stinky or something...it's def a roll of the dice if you can't inspect them in person first.

Knowing my luck I’d get the car that was in a really horrific wreck and would find brains in the crack of the seat.

This though about LX470 seats though …. I like this idea. It’d be cool if you could simply swap the Tundra base onto the LX470 base also. But if you could get integrated heaters and the harnesses for the donor, I can imagine a re-pin you’ll be pretty simple, and result in a nice OEM+ mod….

i'm going to read back on your first gen sticky thread, but don't I recall a place where you can find out which different model vehicle parts crossover and will fit yours?

i noticed PYP also includes the VIN for the donor vehicle, I'm sure there's a way to look up to see the actual trim and options for that donor

You should be able to plug the VIN in at Toyota owners to find out the trim/options/interior-exterior colors/etc.

I'm not sure of a place where you can find out which diff't model parts can fit your car. If I know the part number, sometimes you can Google the part number and add (with quotes) "fits" after it to get some fitment information. But I'd love to know an easier way ...

PYP does do some cross referencing. When I searched for the Lexus seats, it did return Sequoia, same for my tundra.
Have to pick the same trim option, but I suspect more are compatible. I had to pick the electric seat option on my tundra for it to show the Sequoia electric seat

I don't mind traveling a few hours to pick up some electric seats with heaters. I'm pretty sure I've read where people were able to put in the electric seats since the tundra is already wired.

This is true for some DCs. If prewired, you'll find these two connectors. https://www.tundras.com/threads/04-...s-w-katzkin-leather.63131/page-2#post-2166666

Also see reply a few down from that one: https://www.tundras.com/threads/04-...s-w-katzkin-leather.63131/page-2#post-2390346

Thanks I'm bookmarking all of this so I can come back to it in a couple of months after I'm caught up with all of my other projects on my truck

I was going to have to, at a minimum, get my driver seat reupholstered. It is shredded with upholstery foam coming out. Might as well go ahead and do an upgrade

Before you get too invested, I'd check to see if your truck is pre-wired with those connectors. If not, you've got a serious uphill battle to get there.

Yeah that's why I wanted to devote some time to fully explore it and be sure of what I'm getting into. I'm pretty sure somewhere over the last 18 years I've seen those connectors but I want to be sure

I was thinking I had some connector under the driver seat. I've taken it out a few times to shampoo the carpet.

Edit: probably thinking about the existing wires for the sensors to see if there is weight in the seat for the seatbelt/airbags

Hmmmmmm.... Well I've got a 2006 LX470 too. :) I'll give them both a close look in the next couple days and see how close they might be.

I've had a couple of 2005 GX470s before as well and those seats were real comfortable too. Leather, heaters, etc. Might be another option.

But those damn LX and GX leather seats go to hell if they've not been treated right, especially after ~20 years. And eeeevveeerrybody is looking for good ones to replace their junked out ones. You'll pay a pretty penny for them if you find some.

I saw plenty of leather Sequoia seats available when I was looking for my cloth ones last year. I think you'd have better luck getting leather heated seats out of a Sequoia vs an LX or GX.

@digitalferg do you mind if I ask how long ago did you do this and how much were the actual seats not including shipping?

I found some through the same site where you got yours at a junkyard relatively close by close enough where I don't mind making the trip based on the pictures they had. Price seemed almost too good to be true. Edit: I think part of that is because they may sell the seat tracks separately so that would add a little bit more

I saw yours also had manual cloth seats before as do mine. I'm not sure I have the airbags like you, so I need to be sure I will have Power as well.

That seems to refer to the seat heater only. I'm not as concerned about that as the power for the power seat.

but for the power seat itself, I would think you just need a power lead or maybe two and a ground. That wouldn't be too complicated if it is not already pre-wired

If not already pre-for the heater it would just have to be wired to shut off with the ignition

I paid $130 per seat. The shipping to Utah from the SouthEast doubled the cost for me though. Worth it for me personally. Sold my original ones to recoup a bit of the $$.

Not sure about power being there (on the drivers side) already for all of them or not, but like was mentioned, not too bad to tap in for 12V or run new.

I may have gotten really lucky. If those pictures are accurate on the PYP website, and the exterior appears to be, then this one has the right color of interior. my truck interior is taupe and this one is LB43. Can't find much on that, but the pictures appear to be close to taupe. I think the colors on the Sequoia are not exact with the tundra but it's the one that is pretty close

not sure what else would be leather, but possibly the steering wheel in the armrests. Assuming it hasn't already been scavenged but it has not been there much more than a month

I don't think the trucks got any leather amenities other than the inserts on the door cards. I wasn't able to find OEM leather wheels for any 1GT out there, I had to borrow from a mid-2000s 4Runner, which just so happened to match perfectly.
