Worth noting that I no longer have that one installed.
I switched over to this one that has USB-C and higher output.

Did you have to remove the center console to access that plug? Looking to do the same on our seqouia and pulling on the factory plug broke the cover off and scared me to pull harder lol

Like Jeff (Bulldog) said - hit that link for more details. But no - don't have to remove the center console, just the back panel of it. Don't pull on the factory plug - use a trim tool to lift up/out on the whole back panel.

    Can I pick some brains?
    Related to this:
‘Also wrapped up the install of BSM on another member’s truck about 1-1/2 hours’

Got destroyed by rain last week. Water through cabin air by way of cowl (I think) with puddle on passenger floor. Now my passenger side BSM stays illuminated and drains battery. Is there a harness or wire that I should hone in on to fix/replace?

Not knowing what year or trim level your truck is makes it tough (information you can fill out in your profile).
That said, I would trace the harness that comes from your mirror down through the door and into the passenger kick panel junctions. Specifically MJ2 (pin 3) and AJ3 (pin 18).

    upload_2024-1-22_14-42-40.png

BUT, all that said, if the system is illuminated with your truck off, you've potentially got bigger issues. The circuit that powers the BSM is from the IGNITION fuse ECU-IG1 No. 4 - it won't be powered unless the key is on (or smart switch in ignition). So unless there's a short in one of those connectors that is allowing battery power (not sure what else is in there) to juice up that LED (in which case it's probably also shorted to a whole slew of other stuff), I'm not sure what's causing it.

Thank you for the response and guidance. Sounds like I need to start researching how to locate and check the ignition fuse. Crazy how many posts I've found with similar cowl-related water issues but seems I’m alone on the electrical surprises downstream. Doubt it’s helpful but there is one harness in the passenger kick panel that makes the illuminated BSM light flicker when a give it a shake.

You might also look for rodent damage. that sounds like compromised wire insulation causing a short between a BATTERY-powered wire and your BSM LED. Just that LED by itself shouldn't drain the battery that fast, but if a wire is damaged and shorting out something else that could be draining things pretty quick.

Im afraid mice love the barn so I’ll survey for damage.

Do you know what the 3 blue ones are above AJ3? Think it’s one of those that semi fixes the issue when a shake it.

Not specifically without digging through the wiring diagrams... Hit the link in my signature and download them for your model year. The "Location and Route" will give you info on everything over there to get the connector names and colors, then dig through the diagrams to search for those connector names to see what circuits are involved. That particular area is pretty busy though, since it is the primary junction between the ECM, the harnesses running out to the rear of the truck, and a lot of stuff in the cabin.

You didn’t get the cowl clips under the windshield. You’ll need to kind of tip it in and up under the windshield to get it to seat right.

That’s what I thought too. Tried a couple times. The plastic clips must be slightly bent from removing the cowl so it won’t sit flush. Tried the heat gun which helped a little. Thinking about using a clear silicone or something. Anything to avoid paying hundreds for a new cowl.
