It will only work on vehicles that already have wired CarPlay

it doesn’t add CarPlay to the radio, it only lets it connect wirelessly.

Indeed! Its probably burried in here somewhere, but can you swap a 2016+ oem head unit into our "gen 1" 2.5 gens? Probably not, huh, or else you would have mentioned it. :(

That won’t do you any good. As was already said, the HU has to have CarPlay/Android Auto available, and the dongles just add wireless capabilities to it. CP/AA wasn’t an OEM option in the Tundra until 2020, and those stereos are not a direct swap to older models (requires an expensive harness). Your best bet is going to an aftermarket head unit.

Finally got my dual-relay setup installed, powering my two Hella Black Magic flush mount lights when the cab switch is activated, and the highbeams are on. Also installed the All-Lights thing to leave my fogs running with the highs as well.

New brakes front and rear. Pretty noticeable difference after doing a proper breakin.

Parts gathering continues. Hopefully here soon I’ll finally throw the big brake kit on.

In other news I’ve been working with a company to develop an exhaust system for the tundras. Why not can’t have too many options. Getting the system installed Friday. Some features include high flow cats/ cat delete, additional bungs for sensors, mandrel bent, x pipe, full stainless, high clearance etc more to come on this front.

This one can add CarPlay to a non car play system. Someone else on this forum had this installed and said it worked well. It’s on my list of things to get.

And make sure to do the upgrade to the latest firmware. Is on the box, the instructions.

I'm loving the fact that the plate no longer has to be removed to access the oil filter.

    Finally got the wheels/tires installed.

295/70r18, stock TRD pro suspension. Method 316 18x9 +18. Had to move the bumper forward about an inch, and still have the slightest rubbing at full lock in reverse.

Will get some better pics a little later. Looking to install the RSB and dashcam today.

Dropped it off for the headlight harness recall and to have the flex fuel hard start TSB performed. Shop called me back a few hours later stating they confirmed the codes and fuel values so they approved the TSB work. Oh and discovered both cam tower seals have small leaks, and both rear shocks have small leaks. No wonder I noticed lately it’s starting to get squishy and loose in the rear. Sometimes those extended warranties pay for themselves. Over $3k worth of work for a cool $100 deductible. Now I’m cruising around in a brand new fully loaded hybrid Sienna minivan until they’re finished. Things rides great but it isn’t for me.

Indeed is good to have extended warranty. It pays of in situations like this
