My 2000 steering wheel has a rip found this wheel in good shape at the local U-pull it on a truck manufactured in 2000 but they wouldn’t give me the airbag citing some state law and the airbag from my 2000 has a slightly different shape. I’m guessing 2001 and 2000 are different. It’s stamped with PN 45103-00010. I don’t want anything for it but if you could pay postage that would be great. Color is oak

Airbag has a slightly different shape? Do tell more. There should be virtually no difference between most Toyota models in this year range.

I have a 2000 SR5 Access Cab, that steering wheel is a unicorn, different from other years.

I’m told there are three different steering wheel airbag combos for early FGTs.

Many of the first gen 2000's built in early 1999 like mine had a few parts that are different from later 1st gen. I need a clock and mine is a 06/99 pro date and the vent ducts are different so any of the 2001 and up heater control panel w/clock won't interchange. Also had a much longer 4x4 button than later ones and an all red 4 way flasher button not black w/red writing.

Clock to voltmeter mod is a good one. I need to do mine. Clock on a truck is dumb, but a nice stereo with CarPlay and forget about setting the time.

Not sure how you'd switch a digital clock that's integrated into the heater control circuit board to a voltmeter, but I'm all ears...... tired of seeing mine skip time like the $ numbers on the Cam2 110 pump at the track.

Might be more involved for FGT but I'd wager it's doable, not like the click really needs to exist for anything to function properly.

Yup it's totally different on the Tundra vs Tacoma. The Clock is actually part of the heater/ 4WD control circuit board, not a stand alone unit. I wish it was. 1st Gen Tundraintergrated Clock Heater circuit board.jpg

Disassemble and de-solder was my plan of attack. I’ve had the pieces apart before.

Yes good idea I'm going to try to resolder the circuit board also. Seems a couple of the clock chips rattle loose.

@daveeasa @drmini please keep us updated if you have any success with this mod. Would love to do this to my own truck (after others have been guinea pigs first, of course)

It'll probably be years before I get to it. My mods to do list is pages long. I've had subs wired and enclosure in place and even the amp mounted but not powered up for months and that's just one truck. So, yeah, I'll never be first on stuff due to lack o time. But it's for sure doable, the voltmeter just takes ignition, battery and ground, pick color, same digits/appearance as the clock just infinitely more valuable than some dumb thing which is usually wrong by at least minutes if not hours and is superfluous with a decent carplay radio.
