I'm considering a Tundra, comparing to RAM and maybe F150.

When looking at the stickers, most MFG will list the gears (and tire size). I noticed Tundra does not list those.

So how do you figure out the gears? Or do they all have the same gear ratio? I have noticed most of the SR5 and above list the tow package and trailer brake. Are there different tow packages, or is it just one standard package?

    What I would be getting:

SR-5 or above, crew max, short bed. So looks like (unless there are different gear sets) my tow capacity would be 11,160?

Additionally, what size tires do they come with? Most of the RAM come with 32" or 33".

This would be a big selling point to me because the RAM is around 8100 with the usual 3.21 gears. I'd have to get 3.92 gears to get the higher tow capacity which is not available on many models.

    Thanks for the reply.

So regarding tow packages: looks like only one package available?

Yes that is correct. It has an integrated trailer brake and Tow/Haul mode, which adjusts the transmission shift points. Factory welded hitch receiver (and safety chain hooks) with 4 and 7 pin trailer wiring.

BTW the Tow/Haul mode is beastly driving in the mountains without a trailer. My opinion is the factory installed trailer package is well worth the $.

Be aware that your actual towing capacity may vary from dealer published weights. Maybe some Gen III owners can post their actual towing capacity for their truck as delivered.

On a side note, Ford got sued and lost for publishing either a payload or towing capacity weight for a model they never produced.

@Mattedfred , You're pretty good with numbers. Especially those pesky payload limitations.

And thank you for that. Glad you aren't the type always looking over your shoulder for the Payload Police.
