I am interested in fabricating a manual locking front differential actuator. Has anyone done this?

I’m not sure if anyone on here has done that, but I believe it’s possible.

This guy on youtube has a 1GT that he really uses, and he wired his ADD to a switch on the dash. There might be some differences as his truck has a V6 and is stick shift, so he’s got a physical level for 4WD.

Why would you want a manual front actuator? If you want to eliminate the possibility of electrical issues, you can remove the ADD (Automatic Disconnecting Differential) actuator and use a hose clamp to keep the front diff always engaged.

Also, I read somewhere on here where a guy used T4R manual locking hubs with a permanently engaged ADD. Could be an option for you. Search that one out though.
