Damn, 3700 miles and 5 months and something hit my truck.

Not sure what hit the truck the more I think about it the more I think it was a shopping cart. It looks like it barely got the center black plastic and the silver panel. It’s not much damage but still heart breaking.

Do they sell painted ice cap panels from factory?

I can definitely empathize with your feeling on my last truck. But you should be able to get some buffing compound and buff that out if it didn't get below the paint layer. Kind of hard to tell in the pic. I think someone else just posted recently about buffing something similar.

I'm so picky. I do have to understand I have a 6 year old and a 5 month old so things are gonna happen.

I thought so myself. It didn’t come off with my finger and some spit. I know I can replace the panel.

You can, and also have it color matched.

You are lucky, I had damage to my driver's side rear door that required paintless dent removal after about 3 weeks of ownership. Whoever did it left no note or anything.

That would piss me off. It’s a fear of mine that I know I can’t control other than park far away.
My wife likes to shut the door with stuff in her hands like grocery bag, purse, diaper bag etc.

No, they don't come painted. That's probably the cheapest place to get them done, and they ship pretty quick too.

It's pretty fun to learn how to remove paint blemishes. That one doesn't look like it's through the plate and there wouldn't be a dent in plastic. Check out some of the YouTubes and you can buy sanding kits off Amazon.

I’d try to just buff it out. As soon as you replace that panel you’ll get a bigger dent or scratch in a more prominent spot.
At least that’s how my luck is.

Sorry, man. I know that's frustrating, especially when it's from some jerk who didn't own up to it. I'm the same way in that I'd want it fixed, especially on a new truck.

If it makes you feel any better, couple weeks ago I just got done telling my kids to be careful opening the door to our new Sierra HD in our garage, then I proceeded to open my door right into our Highlander's side mirror. :facepalm:Put a nice dent in it, so I took it to a paintless dent repair guy (one of my dad's car buddies) and got it looking like new.

Classic Dad move! I can't tell you how many times I say something to prevent and accident, then guess what happens. See what did I say? Didn't I tell you that was going to happen. lmao.

That was just you demonstrating WHY you told them to be careful, right?

    Lots of stuff!
I was fortunate to get a set of these from another member in black. I am going to take my silver ones off as part of my "chrome delete". If you want White ones, just get yours painted if they aren't damaged or cut by what ever hit you.

I was going to color match mine but figured something like this would happen. I had some matte vinyl so I decided to wrap them. A week later, the passenger side was scuffed pretty hard from what I can only assume was a shopping cart. I pulled the panel off and re-wrapped it. I was mildly annoyed I had to redo it but it was better than repainting the dang thing.
