3rd Gen head unit keeps turning on/off or freezes up

    Hello all... anyone with '14 on up 3rd gen head unit (stock) keep turning on and off or "freezes up" mine been doing a lot lately 45500 miles on now bought used with 26000 never done since bought til 2 months ago anyone with ideas???

    I had the same issue with my 2016. A firmware update was released for the head unit several months ago. I had the update done and have not had this issue since.

    Take your truck to the dealer and have them check the software version and update if needed.

    What's the cost of doing that?...with my mileage I'm out of the 36000 mile warranty...still covered?

    Mine did the same thing on my 2014, dealership updated it for me. But I was still under 36k miles. Not sure what the cost would be. How many miles do you have on it?

    Same happened with me. Dealer did the firmware update at no charge. There is a TSB on the issue.
