    1. has been answered a bunch. I had a dumb issue where the window seal ripped by the mirror(drivers door). Opened the app in the Costco parking lot, answered some questions, took 2 pictures and uploaded them, had an appointment later that day for the following week. Guy came out to my house and replaced the seal, calibrated all window sensors and made sure the window was sitting properly in the door. Super convenient.

Also service center location was the reason I didn’t consider other options.

    2. They do have to go to a Tesla body shop. Now this is something I hope to avoid. My niece and her husband leased his 3 right before I bought my Y. Some lady in her husband’s truck hit his rear bumper and passenger fender in a parking lot. Just cosmetic. They didn’t notice when they left as it was dark but did when they got home. Looked at the sentry footage and went back to the store. Confronted the lady, she lied, they tried to give her another chance, she lied again. He said watch this and played the footage while they called the cops. So 100% her fault but they have been waiting like 8 months to get it into the shop.

"what other Mfr can you summon, via an app, if you have ANY issue with your car?"

The "MyNissan app" allows me to do just that!

Who knows how those Hertz rentals were treated, charging wise. I dont think I would ever want any rental car. Regardless of make.

Electric motors, gas motors. No cams no pistons no internal wear just electric motors wrapped tight, not much to tear up in an electric car except interior. There was a post about a guy that bought one that had battery problem. Took it in they dropped the battery pack and traced it to just one of the AAs, they cut the positive and negative to just that one battery charged him like 10 grand and he had a perfectly fine car for a grand total of 15k or some number like that. Sure an electric motor can go bad but most times that is after years of run time. The problem with electric pieces you never know? If I can find the video I’ll post it. I could never get that lucky.

No I get that, and knows its a lot less of a risk. My only concern would be:
How it was driven (over any curbs? inspect full front end components)
Charging - was it fully charged to 100% if that specific model did not require it to, and over multiple times while it just sat there with the overage?

Now, if it was an ICE rental...NOPE NOPE NOPE (especially if its a V8 and I had it)

I still think the dirt/grit going down there could be bad. It's a legitimate question that shouldn't be dismissed by the internet cultists. It should be addressed by Tesla. If they say it's a non issue and accounted for in the design that holds more weight than a fanboy demanding his new toy not be questioned.

Agreed. They need to load up the bed with gravel and see how much gets under the bed.

With round and flat bottom wheels, yes. Even the flat bottom is a minor impediment to hand over hand turning for anyone that has decades of experience with a round wheel. It's like having every 3rd step in a staircase be a different height. Will you die? No. Is it awkward and unnecessary? Yes.

But you have never driven a vehicle with a yoke or the CT with the modified yoke so you have no direct experience with turning those vehicles so saying it is shit is simply based on your opinion and not actual experience. The drive by wire on the CT makes the modified yoke very comfortable and a round wheel unnecessary.

we use the yoke on our MS. And clearly see how drive by wire would only make the experience better

the yoke is awesome for most, if not all, driving

The yoke shape is only wonky when you have to make a tight turn. And like it was said, is because we have 100yrs driving a round wheel

Even if I had experience it would only be my opinion. Experience doesn't change that. As stated I DO have experience with a flat bottom wheel which is a very mild change and it caused stumbles. It's a logical conclusion that a more extreme version of the change would amplify the dislike.

I've never taken a dick in the ass either, but that doesn't mean I can't say I have no interest in trying it because I think it would be an unpleasant experience. Or do I have to get pegged to be allowed an opinion?

And this is the only time hand over hand turning is done.

The power was out to the Superchargers, nothing wrong with the cars.
This fit the anti Tesla narrative, so it caught like wildfire.

Side note; can't belive these goofball owners showed up "empty". I know I don't let my gas tank get below 1/4 in the winter

There were also ones that were working but they would charge very slowly. Nothing anti anything about that at all. In fact there has been a couple studies done about charging in colder weather and if I remember correctly the study models would only charge at a rate of 37%. There is definitely a problem in cold weather charging electric vehicles and that problem is they seem to charge at a drastically slower rate and do not charge at capacity.

I still say it’s a fad and I give it two maybe three years tops and the EVs will drift away with all other ideas that some wanted to work but no matter how hard they tried to force it upon the world it would not take hold!!:)

Yeah. Lithium ion tech has trouble charging at sub freezing temps. Some chemical thing

most of which can be assuaged by pre conditioning

I used to think it was a fad. But gov pressure has forced it into our daily habits. That was the goal

now it gets perceived as normal.

there is, and looking forward, a place for evs.

    mostly urban type commuter stuff

maybe, just maybe, the Chevron Doctrine case presently in SCOTUS, will turn things in a favorable direction and kill the administrative state. And all of the associated mandates will go away. Because we did not vote on EPA standards

    and I want a v8 tundra!

Yep. According to several articles that reported on the Chicago charging situation, yes, the charging stations were up. The batteries got too cold to charge. The multiple charging stations were attempting to "pre flight" the batteries to accept a charge and wasn't happening. One guy waited for over an hour..and nothing. Yep.This is not the first time something like this has happened. No matter whether it's a charging station issue or car battery issue due to the extreme cold.....not a good selling point. Just an observation. Not anti anything.

The thing is there’s more chargers around and it’s on the map that shows:
    A- the watts
B- how many chargers are open
C- if any chargers are down, and which ones

In sub-freezing temps, it’ll prob use (worst case scenario) 40% more battery than normal as it needs to keep the cabin and battery warm.
ICE vehicles may lose 15-25% (takes time to heat the cat converter)
