I had to change my Starter on my 2000 Toyota tundra 4.7L can't tell you the trouble this is my second time to do this. But my problem can anyone tell me how to put the Trottle cable back on the wheel, I can't make out how it's supposed to go. My next problem in the process of replacing the starter I removed about a look's like 5/8 inch bolt that has a hole in the shaft. I can't figure out where in the world I got it from Thanks for all the help.

Yeah, starter is one of those parts where you only want to use OEM, or else you *WILL* be doing this again in the next 18-48 months. It's also one of those parts where you want to replace the intake gasket, and the only quality ones that last are FelPro or OEM. Too many people coming to this forum have learned both of these lessons the hard way, I hope this info can save you similar pain and issues!

Starter is also one of those things people replace when the truck doesn't start, but the starter isn't actually the problem.

You got a picture of what you're dealing with? Pic is worth a thousand words. It's really easy to upload pics here using the "Upload a File" button at the bottom-right side of the box where you type replies.

It should work similar to handlebar/bmx style brakes on a bike.

Rotate the TB plate as shown with the red arrow (1)
Rotate the lead barrel so it locks into the hole (2)

You may need to insert the barrel in from OUTSIDE that channel, like have the whole cable alongside the "INSP" writing, insert it into the round slot (side load it) then push cha cable up over the side spine to get it into the slot.

Remove the bolt holding the throttle cable bracket and then you can insert the barrel into the whole and wind the cable into the groove. Let me know if you need a picture

Weird...i removed and reinstalled the throttle cable last summer on my 4.7 powered 2000 tundra and it had both a round shaped barrel end on the cable and a round shaped hole on the throttle pulley. It was all straightforward easy-peasy. Is the pic you posted up your actual truck or a random pic from the internet? If it’s not a pic of your truck, perhaps a previous owner modified (or bodged) your throttle cable and pulley?

Where did that one come from? That’s not part of the throttle wheel that I know of. Related to the pic you put up, shifty has given the correct process for reattaching the cable.

Thanks for confirming. I was not 100% positive, but have had at least two other vehicles with similar in the past, so I’m assuming Toyota works about the same.

This bolt does not come from the throttle body. I removed it from somewhere and forgot where it goes. I am not as young as I once was so I tend to forget things. Just asking if anybody can help me find where it goes. The throttle cable is back on thanks for the help.

Looks like the banjo bolt on the pipe connecting the two fuel rails at the front of the engine

I mean, I see the banjo @bfunke pointed out (big circle). Is there not another one on the other side (small circle?)

There's only so many places banjo bolts go on an engine :D

i’d double check to make sure that there isn’t a normal hex bolt installed somewhere that there should be a banjo bolt?

Well guys I found out where the bolt goes, it is where the vacuum line connects to the rear of the engine coming from the brake booster.I had to go to the Toyota Dealership and they helped me find it. Thanks for all the help though.
