Hope all is well. I am pondering which size of A/T tire for next set and would appreciate your input/recommendations. I live in San Diego and spend most time on the road and little time on trails. I have researched tires and set ups on this site and am leaning towards 34's; maybe TOYO AT3 305/70/17. Other tires in that size are Nittos and Coopers.

Currently running 17" Method wheel with 0 offset and Mickey Thompson ATZ 295/70/17. Suspension is Bilstein 6112 at about 1.75" with stock UCA and 5160's rear with no lift. I don't have any issues doing a BMC if needed but I prefer not to increase height in front and I am not prepared to replace the front suspension. Thanks.

Also, yes 37's are bad ass, but they are not an option for me- at this time.

I’m right with you almost to a T. I have 295/70 Toyo ATlll but on 18” methods. For me the next leap may just be 37s

    35's.
Also not all 35's are equal. BFG tend to size smaller than Toyo for example.
I know a good guy in Vista for BMC if you need. he can adjust your suspension too.

Here is mine on a 2.5/1.5 with 295/70r17s top, and 33x12.50r17s bottom. Both 0 offset 17x8.5. IMO the side profile view looks better with the taller 295/70 and the front/rear/angled view looks better with the wider and shorter 33x12.50s. I currently have the 33s. No 35s on this truck yet though, I don’t like the idea of sacrificing power. upload_2022-12-3_12-40-21.jpg

If you move to 35s+, and use your truck as a truck, then you will want to regear which will significantly increase your costs.

33/34s with stock gears are OK, still have the power and MPG hit but nothing like the power and MPG hit from 35x1250 and larger meats, which get very heavy quickly. Not to mention the added stress on the truck from tires that big over time and the usual additional steps that can be needed to fit 35s without rubbing.

Ive run 35s on a daily driver, half ton, not sure I will do it again. They look great, but there are tradeoffs especially if you do not regear.

Looks nice. Does that BDS lift negatively impact the turning circle like the RC lifts?

Don’t mean to high Jack the thread. I’m looking at these method wheels 314’s in 18’s. How do you like the wheel finish on your wheels? What off set are the 17’s? I know the 18’s are 18.

I don’t have the 314s anymore, but I liked the finish a lot. They were durable and held up well, I also kept them clean and coated with protective products. Color is subjective but I like the titanium color as well, black would have been just as nice. I got grey figuring it’s easy to plastidip them black occasionally to change up the look, but you cant duplicate the titanium. The 17s are 0 offset.

Thanks what did you switch too? Yeah the 18’s don’t come in titanium. Only the matte black.

I’m not a tire expert by any means but why does the exact same tire in load F weigh less than one in load D?

Dang they used to offer them in 18s, as I wasn’t sure which to go with at the time. I switched to RRW RR7H wheels in matte gunmetal (lower picture above) also 17x8.5 0 offset.

Yeah I assume they did not sell the titanium in 18’s a lot so they only offer the matte black in the 18’s. I’m getting in patient waiting for the SCS F5’s for the tundra to release.

Did the 33x12.5 require a bmc or trimming? I plan on having a similar setup but I will only have a 2" level in the front

They did not require a BMC but I had previously trimmed the mudflaps in certain areas to prevent rub. I believe the previous owner of the truck had done some trimming toward the front of the wheel well but I don’t think that was a concern. I have since gone to a 305/70r17 which is larger than both of those tires and it has not rubbed with those either.
