    Thanks guys. I figured one of them was bad just from the noise alone - and the interweb research. Messing with both actuators made me realize how easy it will be to manually go to 4wd if one were to fail in the woods.
    Almost too easy to repair

    The old truck is at 264,500. Running quite well except for a metallic ticking sound at start up. I think that may be the bearing in the AC pump pulley, but I haven't really had time to pin point it.

    She spends most of her time daily driving me to work during the week and hauling kayaks to various locales on the weekends
