Wheeling a Tundra that hard, I’d say you’re definitely in the upper echelon of skid requirements. Way beyond what the majority needs, fer sure.

 

Most often it falls into a "dumb" category. But I call it "a fun"

Alternative to winching through the stumps was going back and force an unexpected beaver pond only inches to the air intake without right to choose a wrong vector, since the pond is muddy and the truck sinks as soon as it stops.

999.99% not a skid, but then someone tries to splash off a stump and now it’s a skid!

Better than tinfoil, but not quite as good as three layers of tinfoil.

 

I tried to link you to another member getting rid of a stock skid plate/splash shield. It’s a new post. I’d probably just bite the bullet and do a full set of plates from talon. Front, and cat plates.

Just to chime in here my 1794 non-trd has the factory garbage skid plate.

It’s a pain to remove and collects crap off the road. I would opt for an aftermarket solution if I were you.

I ended up going with this one. I won't be doing any serious off-roading, just some occasional Forestry service roads in North Georgia when looking for new fishing spots.
