Does anyone know of an stl file already created for creating a dash mount tray system for that space behind the display?

I want to mount my dash cam. I need to build that tray but have a section in the middle that is raised about 3 inches to be flush with the display in front of it.

If I get some time... no telling when... maybe I can design something. But that would not be a great place for a dash cam. Higher is a better view, not so much hood. Most of us run the wires under the c-pillar cover to the dash cam mounted next to the mirror. I am guessing you don't want to hard wire yours, but that really is the better way to go.

Yea I didn’t want to mount it high and mess with removing panels and possibly creating rattles.

Those pillar panels are bolted, easy to remove zero chance for rattles.

Hey Dano, not sure this is what you had in mind, but you can give this a try. I threw together a quick design, just basically a block with a wire channel in the back that will have to be attached to the tray by double stick tape, and then your device mount attached to the top somehow. I did an abbreviated print to make sure it fits the tray but not the complete part. If the height isn't exactly what you need you can resize it in the z-axis in your print slicer to whatever you like.

I’m confused. Maybe I don’t know what I’m looking at as I have no experience in 3d printing. Will this bolt into the OEM tray? And is it flush with the display top?

No, it won't bolt in. It is sized to fit in snugly but you'd need some double stick tape to hold it down. Do you really want to be bolting things into your dashboard?? Again, I don't have time to iterate this and dial in the height for you. You'd have to try printing it to see how it lines up with the display and then adjust the height by scaling it in your printer slicer to get it exactly how you want it and then print it again. This is not something I need so I don't plan to do anything else with this. If you really know what you want, take it to a commercial 3D print designer, but I suspect that won't be cheap. Another idea: you might get one of those big plastic potato chip spring clamps... bolt the cam to that and clip it on the display. Good luck.
