    Lots of stuff!
We had a 2019 Honda Ridgeline with a V6 and it was running in the mid 20's. That thing was more like a car with a 5' bed. Then when we saw the new Tundra with the V6 and the claimed economy, we decided to switch. We also wanted to added towing capacity.

We do have 2 EV's that we use most of the time so the Tundra does mostly towing in town and occasional trips with the trailer. Our mileage is around 20L/100kms or around 12 mpg. as an average since we got the truck. We use 91 to 93 octane gas and usually run it in Tow mode. According to the little Toyota app Drive Pulse, we are gentle with the acceleration/decelerations and scored an "Excellent"!

I've noticed wind affects the mileage on my Tundra a bunch. On a recent trip thru the eastern Colorado plains, I average 20.7 mpg one way with no wind. On the return trip I had a steady 30 mph headwind, and only averaged 14.7. That was all interstate driving at 75-80 mph.

My 2015 Tundra never got better than 14.5 mpg, even with a tailwind, so I'm pleased with the mileage of my new truck.

Retrax. Uptop AFS bed rack. Condor XL. Dobinson rear springs. BFG 35/12.5/r18. BD light bar and ditch lights. Prinsu roof rack. Diode dynamics fog upgrade.
People also forget EPA ratings are done at steady state of 65mph. Here in Texas I cruise at 90-95mph. High speeds affect aero and thus MPG. Plus if you have heavier tires, bigger tires, overland gear ect. More aero cars like Prius or in truck world line a Maverick might have less impact at higher speeds, but will still be impacted.

Man i want one of these. You can sleep inside too, with the electric a/c running all night and it'll burn hardly any gas. :D

I don’t drive it like I stole it but I still only get 13-14 mpg. I do have a lift and 34’s.

    not complaining, just saying,

I get Truck MPG's and expected that kind of mileage. Huh,who would of thunk that!?

Come on it's a 6,100# vehicle with no OEM stock tires on it...

Yes, the gas mileage is not the best, but you make up for the cost of the extra gas by not being in the repair shop all the time & by not having to replace your truck before you’re ready. Toyota makes great, dependable vehicles.

I use the Tundra for truck stuff and the "other" for commute stuff. Lucky to have gone past the phase where I cared what people who don't know me think about me just from my vehicle. Complaining about Tundra gas mileage kinda seems like being on the one bedroom apartment forum and everyone complaining it is small. Duh.

Wasn't the whole idea of moving from a V8 to a V6 to improve efficiency? If MPG is literally the same why did Toyota leave consumers with an infinitely less reliable/inferior motor???

My 2023 1794 gets 5-6 more miles per gallon than my 2015 Tundra ever did. And it handles better with more acceleration and torque. No complaints here, so far in 8K miles. Ask me, again, when I have 100K on it.

    My experience:

Got 21mpg!!! on highway driving 60mph in cruise control (while eating).... Would never be able to drive that slow otherwise.

But city mpg is TERRIBLE I get 10-12mpg! And I accelerate very conservatively and smooth.

Truck is all stuck non trd.

We would like to not care but when the engine is changed for fuel economy and the body is designed for aerodynamics and active chin spoilers and etc etc….you don’t really have a choice to care about it in some fashion

Do you leave all the lights on in your house 24/7? It’s a house, it uses electricity, don’t worry about the electric bill, whatdya do, buy a house to worry about the light bill?

I think something like that is what I need for my daily. Everyone around here seems to be related to Captain Slow Ass... and I don't think I'm a fast driver. Generally I use less than 1/3 pedal at any given time, maybe occasionally 1/2 throttle. Typically I'm a speed limit to 5 over cruiser. Very seldom do I unleash the beast, yet it still seems I'm constantly backpeddaling to not run over someone.

Point is, with one of those cheap little econoboxes with a 5spd, I could hammer that little bastard like a madman just to keep up with the traffic here. At least it would be more fun to thrash a slow car daily than be restrained from anything more than idle out of a modern average vehicle.

Oh yeah, and I can hang a big ol' set of truck nuts under the bumper to retain my manhood!

And on topic, miles per gallon don't matter. It's all about SMILES per gallon. Why drive something if you don't enjoy it?

I am satisfied with the fuel consumption rate of my 23 limited TRD OR non hybrid. I purchased it with the realization it's a full size 1/2 ton truck and I'm not going to get 30 or 40 MPG. That being said, overall I get 3-5 MPG better than all 3 of my 2UZ-FE powered gen 1 Tundras or Sequoia both towing or not. Average with the V35A around 19-20 not towing combined town/highway driving. 11-13 towing a 6x14 enclosed trailer at +/- 4000 lbs. ( mostly wind drag )

    Lots of stuff!
Here is my work/service car: Looks funny with the skinny tires but gets great mileage!

It has a 2 gallon tank and a 2 cyl scooter motor making 35 hp. I rarely use this little motor as it is just a backup incase I run out of juice in the batteries.

If I wanted to drive across the country, I could with this little motor, I would just need to top up the 2 gallons every 120kms.

In town, I keep it charged so I only run the scooter motor once a month as a maintenance cycle.

If the Tundra Hybrid worked like this, they wouldn't be able to keep them on the lots! :)P90129295_highRes_bmw-i3-with-range-ex.jpg

Mpg is part and parcel to owning a vehicle just like electricity bill is part of owning a house…you can’t disregard it just because it’s a big vehicle or a big house…it is what it is, saying “who cares” sounds cool but doesn’t make much sense.

I test drove my truck to house and back which is 24 miles one way. Told them I was going to if I was going to consider purchasing vehicle. They said okay. Just to get a thought on what fuel mileage is going to be like.

I do not see where that is hard to do.
