I purchased the Carlinkit Android 13 with 8g of memory and 128g of built in storage. However, I just went back through my Amazon order history to find the product, and you are correct, it is no longer available. If you were to ask my advice today if I would recommend the one I got, I would persuade you to not. There are some quirks that is really annoying, unless it’s user error that I’m clearly not getting. For example, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to permanently enable dark mode. I have it set to automatically enable at sunset and disable at sunrise, but when my truck goes through a power cycle, the setting would disable dark mode. Not a deal breaker, but just annoying.

Maybe their new “2023” (2023 Newest CarlinKit Android 13.0 AI Box Adapter-CarPlay AI Box Max,for Wired CarPlay&Touchscreen Cars,4G Net,Dual BT,8+128G,Built-in Google Play/Netflix/YouTube/GPS,Wireless CarPlay&Android Auto https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX43B69D) box has solved the issue? It’s difficult to ever get any tech support on this as well. I’ve reached out to them and was told that unless it was purchased directly from them, they can’t provide any support. What a bunch of rubbish right? If I were to go to Home Depot to buy an appliance I shouldn’t expect warranty support unless it was directly from the manufacturer? Get the F out of here!

I believe so, I’m pretty sure you can side-load any APK package, although I have not tried myself. I run a Plex server at home and it works flawlessly. This is pretty much a custom ROM on an Android software. I’m sure you’re going to have to put the APK on a micro SD and install it. Let me know what you’re interested on loading and I can try it for you and let you know the results.

To note, the model I’m selling is the NEWEST version, same as the Amazon link below for $295.00.

Thanks for the response. My only reason for thinking about one of these is so I can get the Car Scanner app to display the gauges on the big screen. I'll probably just continue suffering with the screen on my phone for now. If anything I would probably try one of their lower price offerings without all the memory and 4G capability.

Are you enjoying our non-winter here in MN?

    Thanks again for the reply.

Thanks for posting this as an option. As mentioned in my reply to MaiToyTunCap, I'm not sure if I'll even go this route for what I was looking to do.

    Thanks,

Here's Stremio installed. Didn't have to sideload it, it was directly installed from the google store.
