My app still says that the temp fix is expected to be ready in November. I guess that means Nov 2024. ;-)

possible. when I picked my '23 up from the TSB ECU update for the parking brake and new key programming the Service Manager said the permanent fuel line fix has been pushed back again by the Mothership - no telling when it will actually be released - maybe spring '24. My dealer is not doing the temp fix - yet.

I just had a call from my dealer. They told me that the remedy part should arrive in two/three weeks, and I should have my new truck in a month.:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Don't know if it is the full remedy or just the temporary one.

Temp fix so the Mothership says. But who knows - why would you do a temp fix just to re-do it for a real fix? Could be the Temp fix will be the permanent fix. Guess we will find out in the future. GL. Let us know how it goes.

Nice! Let us know how it goes. I just filled up and have 350 plus miles to drive before considering it - maybe by then the Temp Fix will be assigned the title of Permanent Fix and all the Techs will have enough experience in this service I can drive away not wondering what they F'd up or decided to simply take a shortcut on.

Finally got mine done. Only took an hour and a half. I can't believe I had to call corporate to get the right parts ordered for this nonsense.

Holy crap I thought I was alone!!! My trade in for this Tundra was a 2011 Scion XB and had the same thing happen with an oil change. When I purchased in 2011, this dealership was offering free lifetime oil changes so the car had been going there for 12 years for those free changes. The SA and I argued for several minutes and finally I told him to lookup the service records which clearly showed it was they who did ALL and including the last change. He finally conceded and replaced the oil pan at no cost to me.

I had mine done today. It took the dealership 4 1/2 hours. I brought my truck in at 1000 and it was done at 1430.

Since they had to drop the tank, they did ask me to come in with 1/4 tank or less. I came in with about 1/3 tank and nothing was said. It was the same level when I got it back.

    IMG_1948.jpg

    Life is good.

UPDATE: Interesting thing happened this morning. I decided to fill the tank since I prefer not to have less than a half tank. When I parked yesterday, the gauge was just over 1/4 tank and the "distance to empty" was 164 miles. This morning when I started the engine, the needle went to just over Empty and the distance to empty was just 34 miles. So at time, I thought that they must have removed most of the gas and not bothered to replace it. When I got to the gas station, it only took 19 gallons to fill. I have the 32 gallon tank so I'm guessing there was a tank reset involved due to being unplugged? Does this sound right?

I had my temp fuel line recall done today. I also had a reprogram of the Electric parking brake ECU service call done and the second key fob service call. All together it was in the shop for two full days. The service ticket just shows 2.2 hours for the fuel line recall. The other two items were less than an hour each If the hours are correct, I'm not sure what took so long. It may have been sitting waiting for the right guy to work on it. They did say that they had to pull the gas tank and there's only a few guys that can do the repair.
The service guy said the permanent fix will most like ready next year some time.
I had not called in ahead for this recall. The service guy said they have only been doing them for a week and a half.

Just had 15000 mile service done along with temporary fuel fix and parking brake TSB. They didn’t rotate tires at my request (Les Schwab’s job now) and total time was 1:45. I expected it to take much longer. The technician skill level is everything. I suspect two people were doing the work, one for the fuel and one for everything else.

While its not been reported a lot in this forum, there are quite a few fuel leak complaints logged on nhsta's websites (Actual leaks among the complaints that its taken too long to get a fix)

Toyo is the slowest on recall work performance of any OEM I have ever owned in regard to fixes for issues that are not huge reengineering lifts. It seems like anyone timeframe of less than a year is acceptable regardless if safety risk or volume of vehicles involved. Getting the work done is also 100 percent self help if me pestering the dealership. My local dealer would not call the fire department if my Tundra burst into flames in their service waiting lot. Let me do it when I show up

That's the same game they played when I went for my 2nd key fob. Didn't order the part until I brought the truck in for an "inspection". Idiots.

I've also had good experience with my dealer. Find another one in your area if it's convenient. I hope people realize you can get the FOB from any dealer, not just the one where you purchased the truck. So it makes sense that the dealer you purchased from doesn't automatically get a FOB for you when you get the notification. And like Ted, I'll confirm the parts are there before making the trip. Much easier to make a phone call than show up only to be disappointed.

Which dealer? I am also in Idaho and Peterson Toyota in Boise has me scheduled tomorrow for the fuel line temp fix, transmission clunk @ start-up TSB and the parking brake recall. I've been letting this stuff pile up over the past year so I can take care of it all at once. It's over a 100 mile round trip to the dealer and they are the closest to me, so a bit of an inconvenience.

At 1k miles they fixed a coolant leak at the engine oil cooler/warmer thanks to a pinched o-ring at assembly (timing chain covers had to come off) and I was pretty impressed with their service. So far the service department has been great and their technicians seem to have their act together.

Interesting as the suspect line was described as vent line, not a feed. Perhaps more {or less} to the story.

    Follow up to previous post:

Took my truck in yesterday morning to have the fuel line recall, as well as the EPB recall performed. An additional TSB for the transmission clunk at start-up was also performed. Dropped it off at 8am and had a call around 2pm saying the truck was ready to pick-up. :woot:

    Lots of stuff!
I pulled these off my app to see what my options are.

It looks like I could get the temporary fix a few weeks ago.

I have a bunch of TSB’s to go through to see if any apply to my truck and will get the appointment booked.

I think there are a many more TSB's than what Toyota Canada wants to post on my app. The bigger one is throttle lag. I was able to find these TSB's online and downloaded them. I was surprised to see so many of these and Service Campaigns as well. Keep in mind that I have a 22 that is about 15 months old now. There are a lot of little nagging things that could be addressed with the TSB's

Last time I had the truck in for the 6 month service, they took it for a 5 minute drive and told me that there was no issue with the throttle or shifting. They didn't want to change the oil either because the oil is good for 16,000 kms! All they did was leave some greasy hand prints all over the hood. The SA told me that they weren't going to charge me for the scan because they are just that nice! A WTF moment for sure. The mileage was 2,400 kms at that time.

If I am prepared with the info, they can't really look at me like I have 3 eyes and send me on my way! I have a truck that I haven't really settled into and this is part of my challenge. The dealership that is closer to me has proven that they are just a bunch of snakes so I try to avoid anything to do with them.

Took my truck in today to have the temporary fix, only to find out they just did an inspection and had to order the actual kit, even after telling me they had it already. They mentioned there were 2 versions of the fix, and that mine needed the "full" one. Mine is a 23 Platinum FWIW

Advisor said it was safe to drive until next week

Finally got the temp fix installed yesterday, I was kind enough to leave only an .125 of a tank for them. Took a little over 2 hours and then filled up and drove an hour home no issues.

what dealer ? SAP or Corwin or ? I'm not even gonna call until I get the tank to 1/4 mark and figure it will take the dealer until February to get me in too - hopefully they will have the fix-kit and not jack me around with one visit to evaluate and a later one to actually do the work.
